I was a vegan for about six years, but now i'm just not passionate about it anymore ever since i started living in a tent and was homeless for a while. I think it ok to eat meat. i just dont think factory farming is ok.

I was vegitarian for a week, then I accidentally ate a chicken wing and by the time I realised I'd already swallowed a mouthful so I was like screw it, I love meat too much

      Hello:

I am a vegetarian and your diet sounds interesting to me could you please when you have the time give me your diet plan I would love to try it, it sounds good. Thank you and please take care.

  • I'm a human being, not a hoofed animal with eyes on the sides of my head, so no, I've never attempted to limit my diet to bland vegetation.

Really? Then why do ALL primates have eyes front when ALL primates are NOT carnivores or even omnivores?

The analogy, that only predators have eyes front, is biological assumption borne from human assumption. It doesn't square with real scientific observation.

  • I've always been vegetarian, and it's been almost a year since I decided to go vegan. Today I ate a burger containing cheese and mayo, it didn't taste good, I realized I can never go back to eating the produce of mistreated livestock.

Grow your own livestock. Homemade is so much better :)

  • I was a vegetarian for about four years, that was ten years ago. I don't eat a lot of meat now, especially since my husband is vegetarian and a shitty cook (meaning: I make most of the stuff we eat). Most of the meat that I do eat is free range, local and organic.

Ok... This appears to be an old post. I hope you are doing well now though!
    Here it goes. My opinion.
I want to be vegan because I want to stop animal abuse until I realized a few things. Just because I want animal abuse to stop, doesn't mean that it will just because a few people decide not to eat meat. That animal suffered and died for you. So you could eat it. Me, personally, I would rather eat it, and thank it for the life that it gave for me, which I do every time I eat meat. On the other hand, the person who is refusing to eat the meat, that animal died.... For nothing. If it wasn't for others, that animal would just sit there and rot; it suffered in life and died without a purpose at all.
People will not stop eating meat. What we all should REALLY look towards is a happy life for these animals. We should not buy meat from places that abuse their animals. Instead, we should by free range chicken and cows and pigs. That way, at least, we know the animal lived a happy, organic, and free life! Hormones an energies are put into our food because of the people who care for these animals. If a chicken is pumped with chemicals, its beak chopped off because it was fighting with other birds in it's really confined cage, and it's stress levels are high because of its sufferings, you will get that in your meat. Why don't we choose to eat happy chickens instead, if we choose to do so? And thank it for its happy life and wholesome nutrition it gives us.
I personally eat mostly non animal products anymore. But I do also eat meat still... Sometimes I feel guilty about it yes. But no need to feel guilty for who you are, whether it be a herbivore, omnivore or a carnivore.
It's a struggle... When it comes to your concern about animal rights and animals being treated with kindness and respect. But do in your heart what YOU think is right

Vegetarian (still occasionally eat honey) for the past 23 years. Healthy, don't get sick, normal weight, lots of energy, no allergies, etc.

Became vegetarian strictly for moral/ethical reasons and then discovered the fact that humans evolved to be plant eaters, and this is why vegetarians and vegans are healthiest of all.

As for the asinine comments about "growing" one's own livestock, stick to horticulture. I grow my own fruits and vegetables - nothing like walking to the backyard to pick a handful of berries, a papaya, a passion fruit, a tomato, some okra. The animals under my care and the wildlife frequenting my land are safe, and they know it. I wised up years ago and accept my role as a steward and neighbor - NOT some ego-inflated "superior species" because that's nothing more than idiocracy talking.

I've only fantasized about it. Never done it, and I don't think it will be anytime soon because I just had hamburger.

First did it because I found a vein in some meat I was eating. Did it for years and then people kept mentioning cheeseburgers. Failed and ate cheeseburger. Then did it for years and someone on this site (who will remain nameless) ruined it for me. Had three weeks of meat-eating and now vegetarian again. Hopefully for life.

    • I gave it up for a really shit tasteless ham and cheese sandwich. I was gutted. But I can't go back until I get my life sorted out. Though meat is so expensive I don't eat it very often anyway.

    I went with "Other".

I've never really been a fan of meat. I just hate the meaty taste and the fact that a animal was murdered for it.

I once tried it a few years ago, but I was "forced" to stop because I kept bruising. I was bruising due to other factors.

  • I have tried vegetarian food and I find that some of them are actualy has more of a better tatse than the meat versions. I plan on going vegetarian.
