Have you ever talked in your dream, and struggled doing it?

There we're quite a few times where I talk in my dreams, and for some reason I struggle doing it. It feels like my throat is somewhat paralyzed and I breathe at times doing it. A typical sentence would go like this, " It...(breathe)wasn't...me(breathe)that shot...Mr.(breathe)Sullivan...I(breathe)swear on(breathe)my...life! ".

Has anyone ever experienced this before while dreaming?

I've experienced that too. 44

Yes, usually when screaming! Kind of like the same feeling when you're trying to run in a dream but you are unable to move....

Do you get blamed often for shooting Mr. Sullivan in your dreams?

I've sat straight up in bed and yelled at the kids in my dream lol! Freaked my ex out....I wasn't sure if it really happened or not so I asked her the next morning and her eyes got huge and she was like "Oh my fucking God....yes you did and I almost couldn't go back to sleep because I was so scared...." LOL!

All the time. Sometimes I would try running, or even just moving, and I couldn't. I was always stuck, or in extreme slow motion. God, I hate those dreams. I feel like I'm even stuck in the dream. It's a terrifying feeling.

A lot of the time I can't talk at all. Like I try and try but no sound comes out and it's almost painful.

yes, and it's very scary. my mother suffers from a rare nuero disease and this actually DOES happen to her in real life.

When it happens in my dream, it feels like my legs are being held back, or that I can't run, my legs stop working. It's awful!

  • I get it sometimes... That and similar things I always thought for me personally it might have something to do with my asphyxiphobia/pnigophobia, because it's so damn terrifying for me I wake up in a panic, sometimes sweating and actually struggling to breath when I have those dreams.

Other times it was different in the dream, I could breath okay but couldn't get any words out while trying to speak XD That's still scary, but that happens to me in real life.

Yes I this has happened to me so many times. Not as much as when I was growing up (childhood-teens). Its completely normal though. It usually means you aren't getting something out in your waking life that you feel. Say what you have to say to whoever you have to say it to, you'll feel better.

I do this when I try to scream or call out to someone. I usually wake up talking in a normal a normal voice, and then end up laughing at myself.
