  • I never got too far on them but I really liked the scenery.

  • I've had Riven for ages and for the longest time I HATED it. Then fairly recently I decided to strap down and finally play it through and was rather surprised to find that I enjoyed it.

I think you've just got to have the right mindset for those games, and focus on what seems to matter most: the atmosphere!

I definitely remember Myst, the graphics were revolutionary at the time. I got somewhat far, lost interest, managed to get a walkthrough on the internet to finish the game (remember, this was in the EARLY days of the internet). Tried Riven, didn't get very far and then gave up.

I was like eight years old at the time though. It would be interesting to try again at them and see if it's any easier to get through.

I'm familiar with the name, but I've never played the games. Will you provide some links?

they are old school point and click puzzle games, that used clues, math, etc to solve. and they were from the 90's so the "cut scences were green screened in actors lol

and they were good at the time, but now they wouldnt hold up

I've played the original Myst, Riven and Uru, and they always fascinated me. But god, those rock hard puzzles.
