Have you ever lost something of monetary value?

Not including physical cash, have you ever lost something worth anything? I recently lost a little wallet with over $300 in gift cards to clothing stores.

I recently lost a $50 note given to me to buy stuff for my grand daughter's football team. Not saying nothing, just buying the stuff anyway but in future will not put notes in my coat pocket.

One time in Amsterdam I bought a 300 euro bike ( like $350), before I flew away I left it locked up on the street because I had nowhere to put it and didn't have time to sell it.

I flew back to Amsterdam from the USA about a year later and it was still their and I still had the key, it was great I had a bike their waiting for me. I locked it up again in a new spot when I left town.

Then about 1.5 years after that, I found myself back in Amsterdam for a few day layover and it wasn't their anymore.

so i lost the bike, But that's to be expected I suppose after leaving it so long, It was amazing it survived the first year out the street to begin with lol.

Forgot a good pair of laptop headphones on an airplane about 2 months ago when I went back home to Bulgaria for Easter. When I say good pair, they worked well, but the artificial leather was peeling off and they looked kinda cheap.

I never went back to the airport, cause I assumed airport personnel probably threw them away.

I left my tablet at my mum's house and she sent it back to me by international mail. It never arrived.

Not sure if this counts, but a friend of mine stole a few of my manga books that are out of print. When I went to eBay and Amazon to replace them, I saw that the price for the books ranged from 20 bucks to 1000 dollars. I originally paid ten dollars each for them. I decided to sell each series that had missing volumes since there was really no point in keeping them anymore. It made me a decent amount to go to Otakon with, so I guess it wasn't that bad in the end. XD

    • About 12 years ago I hid a bag of weed in a DVD case. Every now and then in these 12 years I go back through my DVD's, I can't find it... I know I put it in one of them

        • did you lose it though. See, there is a more rebel side to you. I bet you are so hard, that at one point in your life you wore tight leathers and told ya parents to fvck them selves

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I lost it. I think it started with losing the back to the earrings, and then I eventually lost the actual earring.

Thanks for the kudos, I just may have done what you suggested at one point, as my sweet, old, Victorian great-grandmother used to say, "oh, you never know". 👵🏻😎
