Have you ever had head lice?

Is anybody else itchy right now? LOL

Never, and that's just gross. Had crabs once though.

I don't know if they are the same as nits, but I did have them once. My mum said I had a big ginger one that needed bashing and she bashed the hell out of my head. The way she went at it, I'm lucky to be alive!

No thank heavens. Having lice must be irritating as hell..

Not if I'm remembering correctly. I do remember being checked for them, though.

Yes..last year when I was a kindergarten teacher. It was horrible. I cut my hair short and applied the lice shampoo that I bought from pharmacy. Problem settled. :)

Several times before as a little girl, I had lice.

Yes I did once. All the boys in class got lice and 2 of the girls. The school also told everyone in school who got lice. So when you came back to school you got treated like you were carrying the bloody plague. If you were clean of them or not.

You were not allowed to come back until the lice was removed. The shampoo took 3 days so they would usually give you a 3 days suspension and checked you when you came back. If you came back and were still infected you were sent back home.

At the time I really did not think it was such a big deal. Since they told us we just had to take some shampoo and it would be gone. They said we would not get sick or go to the hospital or anything and you can not feel them. So I really did not see it as a big deal. I was 7 at the time.

Never have head lice decided me a decent host, but that stood no barrier to fleas. The cat and I had once spurred a devastation on the dining room rug - a horrific experience that was a nightmare to remove.

Fleas, fleas everywhere; leaping inches from my face, and clinging onto all the arm and leg as I bent to roll the rug. It never went away for weeks, the tantalizing pain and itching, and I fell helpless against scratching it - only to spur on more pain and scarring in exchange.

Sorry for ranting on about a separate parasite, but that was about the worst encounter I've had with something similar. While I've dodged head lice epidemics thus far, the fleas still find me delightful.

Good thing that i athleast like the smell of the shampoo...

Only lots of dandruff, but if I ever had lice, I think I would claw my hair off ASAP...

Yeah.. Didn't reaaly itch, but my sister had lice, so my mom checked me as well. And yeah, there they were.

I was living in a appartment once, I had alot of people that i hung out with. there was this one group of friends that I hung out with that gave me lice and I got blamed for it.
I never saw those friends again, and I ended up in foster care.
damb lice ruined my life.

haha When I was young I went to stay with this really wealthy family for a holiday. When I got home my mom said my head was 'alive' with lice. She got this tiny comb and tore the head off me to get their eggs out - or so she said. She threw out my pillows and sprayed my head with some chemical or other.

Not a happy experience but apparently quite common.

Only dirty people get lice.
