I have them on right now.
when I first got them, my friends were like "Haha, We have got amazing teeth, we don't need braces!" and now my teeth are straighter than theirs and I'm now like "HA...HA, WHO'S LAUGHING NOW BIIIIITCH!"

At least you can admit it, and that's all that matters.

Oh dear! I'm currently in the process...eeeekkk. My upper jaw is narrower than my bottom jaw which caused both an overbite and a buckle effect. Had first tooth removed (no.5) few days ago and dntist discovered it had two roots so then I needed to see a dental surgeon to remove the root that broke off and remained lodged. Oh...the pain. Getting the same tooth out on the opposite side this week and already I'm trying to loosen it so it will be a less traumatic experience. I'm older than the average brace-wearing teen, by about a decade! I know I should have insisted years ago but it was only in adult life that I really started to care. Soon though, soon I will have the teeth I dream of. Wish me luck.

I had a top and bottom retainer and its ruined how I speak. I can no longer say sh, ch, j, g, and h without spitting and I have a slight lisp. I had them on less than a year and my bottom teeth are crooked and I still have a slight overbite; I wasn't expect perfect results but I didn't expect my teeth to become crooked. I couldn't close my mouth at all with them in because of the mass of plastic. At first my friends took the mickey out of me because I couldn't say "Silly sizzling sausages" now they braces and have to wear them four times as long as I wore my retainer.

Yes I had braces put on my teeth by at least age 14 and had them off by the time I turned at least 16. I think that's the best time to do them because you're already going through your teenage phase anyways. You figure if I put them on now before I start working as an adult it'll not affect on how people look at me. My braces had colours to them, which were blue, purple and red.The only thing you have to remember is not to eat the many things that can get stuck in your braces, one being candy!

I need dental braces but neither my family nor I can't afford it because it's too expensive in my country.
I was thinking about it the other day and decided I'm not going to lament it because it's all about a physical feature and I'm worth more than perfectly aligned teeth =).

P.S.: My teeth aren't that horrible.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Nope. My dentist sed that I don't need them bc my teeth are straight, no future problems and my teeth are healthy and very white.

Ugh. I had the metal ones about 20 years ago. Only on my top teeth and just for one year. I hated them!! My upper canines didn't come all the way down to join the party with my other teeth. I called them snaggles. Nice and straight now :)
