In high school I was anorexic. I got down to 98 lbs and was 5'7''. I looked like hell because I'm naturally bigger boned so being anorexic made me look even bonier. I did it because I sucked at everything, I was awkward, I was ugly, every one made fun of me, I got bad grades in middle school so I thought I was stupid (the school put me in the retard classes which didn't help either), I was always the 3rd wheel in my group of friends. I think being anorexic made me feel like I was good at something, I couldn't control anything else in my life but I could control my weight.

Used to have one between the age of six and the age of 7 or 8 because my father and his girlfriend used to say I was fat and overweight and used to talk shit to me (put me down) and his cunt girlfriend even burned my hand at one point with a cigerette because she "didn't like me" and I'd known her for like a week, I look back at past pictures of myself and I was technically anorexic for a year after moving to my mums house because I was convinced I was fat and no one would like me eating disorders are horrible, I have no idea how anyone could ever want one, I had one forced onto me and hated it, if someone does this to their kids they deserve to be killed.

People who say they want an eating disorder are infuriatingly stupid and ignorant. It's like wanting an addiction because then you can get the benefit of being high, or wanting cancer so you get the benefit of cards saying nice things to you, or wanting a broken leg so you can get the benefit of sitting in a wheelchair and not having to walk. It's a shitty illness with one so-called benefit... a benefit which most people actually find - and I swear I'm not lying - really unattractive. The whole "skinny = pretty" thing has never made sense in my mind anyway.

Rant over, I'll move on. I've never had an eating disorder, but I've been accused of it because of my thinness. I go through periods where I find my body unattractive... but because I'm very, very thin not because I believe I'm fat. It isn't attractive, it's unhealthy and kind of embarrassing.

The fact the eating disorders even exist is one of the things that makes me feel sick about humanity :(

    • Wanting to be sick or have a disorder is actually a completely different disorder. I get that some people might want to have an eating disorder so they can be thin. But it's always something to keep in mind before you go about calling people "infuriatingly stupid and ignorant". Just a thought.

You'd be surprised. When my friends found out about mine, so many of them kept telling me they were jealous, and tried to "give" themselves an eating disorder. Even though that's not possible. It probably shouldn't have been an potion on the poll though.

Technically, yes. I had tonsillitis aged about four or five and went off food almost completely for eighteen months. I had to have this daily medicine called Minadex to increase my appetite; which didn't work (although it tasted really nice). Aged six, I was the weight of a two year old. I think I only weighed about thirty pounds.

When I was seven and things were looking pretty bleak, my grandma decided to teach me to cook. I was a normal weight within a year and I've cooked for myself ever since.
