My dad has had serious issues with this in the past 3 years. He had to have like 4 seperate surgeries, because after the first and second, it detached again.
He has basically become blind in his left eye and now has no depth perception.
He was 48 when it started.

Colleague at work had one after a skiing accident in Canada (not sure why I'm mentioning Canada, as if it's somehow Canada's fault). He was 25 and his eye looked really weird until it was reattached surgically.

No, I have someone close who has, though. What are you looking to learn with this poll?

    • I was meaning to ask age if someone voted yes but I figured they'd comment.

Forgot to ask to comment if you have or known anyone who has!

I should have added more but I was lazy. I'm asking because everyone I talk to thinks it's weird that it happened to me (I'm 20) b/c I haven't been in an accident or anything but I'm nearsighted. I had tears in my right eye too. Also to just ask people questions if they've had surgery. :)

Yeah, I'm no different, and also find it somewhat odd that it happened to someone so young, as the person I know who's had it is my father close to age 60. He's had it reattached immediately through some type of laser surgery. I can't say much more because I don't remember much, but I could ask. In this case I think Google will answer better than me. :)
