Have you ever got up and left a restuaurant w/o eating?

Have you ever gone into a restuarant, been seated, and then left without ordering? For reasons that the restaurant is 'at fault' for.

Reasons could inculde:

prices
menu selection
cleanliness
no free refills
no alcohol
atmosphere...etc.

  • yes i went alone to an italian restaurant and ordered something and the lady was reaching into the display case to put salad on my plate and she then picked her nose and...well i wont go into the gory details...she knew i knew and i got up immediately and walked out on my way to a bus stop. out of the corner of my eye i saw 3 three men following me and they looked angry, i got a scare and hid between parked cars , they spread out looking for me for ages. then they gave up and i slipped out and caught the bus home

yes, I went to a bar, waited for the bartender to quit chatting with an older gentleman to order a drink. finally when she came over, wasn't nice, and took her sweet time to make my drink, and when it came it tasted like shit, so I just left it there and didnt pay for it.

Yes. When I saw that the food handler was the same guy who just pumped my neighbor's septic tank.

Yes I have, three times. Each time was because the place didn't accept credit or debit cards as a form of payment. Two of the places I got out before I ordered becasue they at least had the warning on their menu while the other place had no post stating that they accepted cash only so I ended up eating the whole meal. After an argument, they told me to leave and never come back. (Like I gave a crap)I don't know if this is coincidence or not, but all three places were run by asians. Do they have something against accepting credit or debit cards?

Cash only places don't get any of my business. I only carry plastic. Haven't been to a bank or ATM in years.

Yup, theres this restaurant near where I live and the last two times I've gone there we've sat down and nobodies come to serve us. So we've just left and gone somewhere else.

Yes! My buddy and I ordered our meal in this supposedly "great new place"....we waited for 30 mins in a restaurant that was not even 1/4 full where almost no one had food on their tables. I was so pissed from waiting and having a sugar crash that I said FUCK IT LET'S GO! We left not saying a word. That place lost a fat customer for life.

Yes, because the menu didn't contain a single vegetarian option. Seriously, not even one. I've also walked out of a restaurant when I smelled what was coming from the kitchen.

I did this recently in Poland. They have now added an obligatory tip of 10% so the staff don't feel the need to work for their tips any more. I took my son and we went into a restaurant, the waitress was sitting behind the bar about 8' away from us. She never got up to give us a menu, so my son reached over for it.

    She sat on.

That was it!! I said at the top of my voice, 'Right let's go. She's not getting my 50% tip!'

This is what I usually give them, as it's a poor country - her loss!! Lazy bitch!!

Hey you! I employ a Polish housekeeper and she is fantastic. My only complaint is that she half kills herself and I have to make her stop for a cup of coffee.

Plus, I was in Poland last year and found that they all worked like that! I think they are lovely people - here and at home.

Don't be so racist. The Polish people have been through enough in their history :o(

i felt obligated, but not because of the resturant, because all of my friends wanted to eat there

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I always feel obligated to stay.

The other week I was at a restaurant with a friend and we contemplated leaving for about fifteen minutes because the prices were higher than expected and they didn't have many vegetarian choices. In the end we stayed because we thought the waiters were watching us and they had free Wi-Fi.

Yes definetly, nobody should feel obligated to eat there if you dont want to. I just said I need to go to the cash point though :p it was fun, should do it more often.
