I have, waste of time and money. Therapist acted like she didn't give a fuck and treated my social anxiety like it was a joke of a problem.

Sounds like you definitely had the wrong person there. I saw this one guy who said all I did was complain and so that was the last time I saw him. I figured why waste time and money on this guy. I also saw this one gal who had just gotten her Ph D and I felt like she didn't help at all. The therapist I have now is a Marriage and Family Therapist. We've had a few sessions with my folks but it's pretty much just me working with her for the past four years and it's really helped me a lot. I was actually referred to her from a my Priest.

If I may suggest, try to do as much reading as you can on your social anxiety and different treatment approaches for it. Then try to interview the potential therapist before you commit your time, money, and effort to seeing them. Also see if you can get a reference from someone you trust. I have some social anxiety too and so I wanna wish you all the best!

Sometimes my Siamese cat is the best therapy!

No. I'll deal with any problems I think I may have myself.

  • Nope. Don't need to. I have enough wits about me to elude those persistant dorks in white coats who keep trying to wrap me up in a tacky jacket & put a cage on my head.

Not yet, but I'll be going to in two weeks, or possibly next week. I don't really have high hopes, except it's now official that I'm mental. Go team.

What is this, not coming to live with me and going off to therapy bullshit?

I think most people could benefit from it in one way or another. If I'm still like I am now as an adult I'll probably go, but I want to wait and see if I in fact only have normal teenager problems. I never have gone though.

Yup. I go once a week. Just for someone to talk to about all these deep ass thoughts that run through my head and get a second opinion about how to view these deep ass thoughts to keep myself from going totally insane haha

ive never been to therapy but i think it would be cool. I love answering random questions. Do they do the ink blotches and stuff? i want to do that too. but then the answers would just be penis over and over again and i might end up in a straight jacket. :/

Yes. I didn't go for very long but I always felt better after I left. It was nice talking to someone about my problems that I could tell no one else. I think she genuinely cared about my well being. Even after I stopped going she called my dad once to ask how I was doing and called me once and left a message when I accidentally butt dialed her.

I'm not a big believer of psychological therapy plus nothing ever affects me so I don't think I'l ever go.

Yes, I have been forced to go to family counseling when I was much younger, and I went to counseling of my own accord last semester. My counselor transferred schools...

Did you like the counselor you had? I didn't see a counselor for long but if I had stayed I would have been upset if she left.

Well, to be fair, she did recommend me to the other counselor there if I wanted to. But who want's to go through the explanation process all over again, right? Anyway, I have determined that for now I am ok and don't need counseling.

I haven't, but I would like to. But I don't, because I'm not sure if my thoughts are something to be told to a therapist...
