For some reason, hypnosis has become a big thing at my school in the past week or two. A handful of people learned, independently, how to do it and started doing it on (consenting) people. It happened so frequently that the school banned it, and you'd get suspended if you were caught hypnotising someone or being hypnotised yourself.
I let my friend hypnotise me, and it kind of worked. He was only able to put me into a very weak trance; my "conscious mind" still felt awake but I just felt slightly more suggestible than normal. I could easily have snapped out of it if I wanted to. I don't know if I'd do it again, but it was a cool enough experience and I'd recommend so long as it's with someone you trust.
Something similarish happened at my school. You know that trick where you sit in the chair and four people put their hands on your head and then lift you up using just one finger each? It went around the school like wildfire. It was so funny because the teachers had to ban it but they didn't know what it was called (even more funny given that they were in the role of imparting knowledge to us) so each registration group tutor had to ban us from putting our fingers near each other's armpits.
Because they didn't ban us from putting our fingers near our own armpits, that of course led to a spate of armpit farting. When that got banned we went back to the "hum" where everyone in the class hums a single tone quietly and slowly builds up the noise until the teacher has a breakdown. Happy days!
Yes i have, i went to a Derran Brown show, he played this weird music and started speaking some shit, but ye about 30% of the audience apparently became brain-dead.
But you can only become hipnotized if you have an open mind, if you are logical it is almost impossible.
Attempted but it didn't work for me. Tried self-hypnosis too as an insomnia cure. That didn't work either. A friend had it done for weight loss. She said the results don't stick long but she did feel absolutely fantastic afterwards and if she could have afforded to have it done fortnightly, she would have done.
Every time I hear a bell ring I act like a chicken. *ring* bok bok bacok
In high school this guy came to do a hypnosis show. I volunteered to be hypnotized, but i didn't pass the first "test"...thank God because I did not want to lose my belly button.
