Nope. I happily would, but advertising for a site like this will bring people who I know here, and from my name and some of the things I say I will get instantly recognised, and everyone will forever think of me as the "guy that things incest is okay".
i would die if my friends knew about IIN..well at least what iv said on iin
Hell no!!
That's like putting a neon sign over my head that says, "Hey guyz! I'm posting on a site trying to figure out if I'm Charles Manson crazy or not"
Id buy a pen or a coffee mug or assless chaps. But there are none. Somehow my heart will go on.
If you had the isitnormal old logo on a shirt and stickers, pens, posters.I think those would sell.
wow, I was just randomly exploring the site, and now we might even get a red sheep plushie!
I would buy a T-shirt that just had the red sheep on it. That way it would stay secret and it literally would be my favourite t-shirt.
The problem with merchandising is that, although people love the site, they don't want friends (or strangers) to know they are here. The very nature of the site makes it difficult to spread the word via members.
Personally, I'd pay ten, maybe even twenty pounds for a poster of the sheep and I'd stick it on my wall and be quite pleased about it. But I wouldn't tell anyone what it was, and so it wouldn't induce people to sign up.
This sounds horribly commercial but if the site had some ranking system where people could push themselves up the rankings by introducing their friends (anonymously), it'd probably have an impact. Most people want to be top of a list and some will go to huge lengths to achieve it.
I wouldn't like it personally, but I do understand that sites (which cost money) don't exist for no reason. With the exception of the site owner(s), every person who has ever posted on IIN has done so on someone else's buck. Didn't cost any of us a penny, but it's cost someone something to allow us to post here.
Very little is for free, and why should it be?
