I did once, and it seriously hasn't affected me at all. I don't know why, because it should affect me, but it desn't at all. I had a loaded handgun and was reported by some idiot as being a dangerous person with a gun, so that's the backstory.

I'm sure the vast majority of people have never been in that situation.
To be fair, depending on what the law is where you are, carrying the gun around was a bit stupid.
To be fair, don't assume I was doing anything illegal or don't know the gun laws. I do know them, I obey them, and I wasn't doing anything illegal.
I'm not saying the cops did anything wrong, they treat a situation with a firearm very seriously. I'd expect nothing less than for them to come at an armed suspect ready to fire. Everything got straightened out, after they got me detained. They ran my license and firearm and it checked out, and I went home.
But all that wasn't the point of the question. Obviously not many people have been in that situation, thanks for stating the obvious and adding NOTHING worthy to the discussion. 'Preciate it.
Why ask a question with an obvious answer? Don't ask "Have you almost been killed by cops" if that isn't what the point of the question was.
Never said you didn't know and obey gun laws. That is why I qualified my statement with "depending". I didn't assume anything, I was careful not to. 'Tis you that was assuming.
Oh, and the "discussion" is looking pretty much like a ghost-town, tbh.
I wasn't looking for statistics on the matter, obviously most people haven't been in this spot, but SOME have, and perhaps they will see the question and comment with relevant experiences. I was aiming more for comments than votes, obviously-I already know how the votes will turn out, call it more of a formality to the making of a poll, sometimes. Sometime, someday, people will turn this question up in a search, just like most other strange, random questions on here, and add something worthwhile.
Why bother to open the poll if you had nothing of value to add? Do you just like to hear yourself talk? I think so.
