Have vivid memorable dreams on antidepressants

Hi All,
Well its been 3 years on escitalopram [Lexapro is my brand].Im not here to defame the product ,as i understand every drug has a side effect ,and also ive developed a love affair with this drug as i feel FABULOUS most of the time.. My dreams however are so crazy and far removed from my normal life,it sometimes takes me a while to de breif the next day.Also i have TOTAL recall of dreams..

    I take Prozac almost daily at night before I go to sleep (20mg - 40mg). It gives me some crazy, highly vivid dreams that feel so real I sometimes confuse them for things that may have happened in my real life. It's almost like having a "second life" while I'm sleeping.

    Everything from the colors, the sounds, the movements, even emotions and feelings of touch are GREATLY intensified.

    For Prozac, I've heard this is fairly common. So, it could be the same with other anti-depressants. Talk to your doctor if you're unsure, or concerned.

    Also, these vivid dreams leave me feeling more tired than usual in the morning. Often, I feel like I've been awake all night.

    I used to have REALLY vivid dreams when I was on Prozac. I've been off it for a while now, and I don't seem to remember my dreams as well. So maybe there's a link...
