Have to have meat closest to me while eating?

I just have to do this, every time I eat, I have to spin my plate round so my meat is closest to me. I just can't eat if it's not. If I'm eating lamb, potatoes and peas, the lamb HAS to be closest, it just does. Is that normal?

No, it's part of setting a table the proper way. As a waiter or dinner host, you are suppose to serve a dish with the meat towards the person who is eating it.

Writing something so flippant as "sounds like OCD to me" is a lazy comment and insulting to those people who truly have OCD.

      • Yes, but most people don't make a big deal out of it and he didn't say he only does this at restaurants, so it must be some sort of psychological problem.
But I admit I don't know much about OCD, except what I learned from watching Monk :)

That's how it's supposed to be. Really.

That makes sense since you usually have to cut meat and it is easier to cut if it is close to you.

Idk if it's normal or not but I don't see anything wrong with it, bc you're not harming yourself or anybody else for that matter.
