Hat issues, how do you clean?

Anyone who wears hats might have encountered this issue. Now hats are tricky. You dirty your sweater and you wash it, you dirty your pants and you wash it. However there does not seem to be a way to wash a hat without completely ruining it. I have washed beanies before and completely ruined them. I have a wool beanie that has collected a lot of sweat. The last beanie I washed shrunk and didn't fit right after I washed it. As well as this when you wet this type of materials water and sweat clings to it. So how do you deal with this? I usually have to buy a new hat.

Don't wash them in hot water. Hot water causes the fibers to shrink. As for drying, there should be an option specifically for wool and/or other delicates. If there isn't. You can try to air dry them.

I use a small mesh bag that's also used for bra's and such. Cold water, gentle cycle and partially dry on low heat then lay it out to dry or skip the dryer altogether. Or you could wash it by hand then lay it out to dry.

I have a beanie that washes fine without shrinking, but that's because it's mostly synthetic fibre. You might want to think about getting a beanie consisting of man-made fibre instead of wool.

Wool anything is sensitive to heat and prone to shrinkage. Here's a good guide to washing wool clothing:

Stop wearing hats. People wear hats simply because of an irrational fear of showing their heads. FACT.

Or an irrational fear of skin cancer? Fact, too!

Your hair should take care of that if you're worried about your scalp so specifically.

Please; what has your ability to grow plants have to do with wearing a hat, unless you need one to protect your face from the sun while doing your gardening, or your "irrational fear of showing your head"?
