"every mother is a working mother" sir, kindly, that is a load of donkey shit. My mom hasnt had a job for a year and doesnt do a damn thing. She sits at home on facebook all day. While i do the work around the house. She even "saves projects" for when i "missbehave". The most phisical activities she does is get up to drive me to work every now and again, because i have yet to buy a car.

I honestly think that women who stop working because they have a child are lazy. Maternity leave is fine, not working when the child is 1-2 is also fine. But once that child is going to nursery or pre-school whatever the hell you call it, there is no need for the mother to be hanging around the house all day, not contributing anything financially to the household.

My mum has worked before I was born, but she gave up her job back then when she was pregnant. She stayed at home during me and my sisters primary school years, but after that she found a job again and she still works there today.

My mum always worked she had to and I went back to work through choice. However in my humble opinion "Every mother is a working mother". xx

My mom has worked since she was a teen and has never stopped. My dad has barely worked since he turned 21, for no legit reason (the reason was, why should I when my wife and kids will do everything?). He also did NOTHING around the house to make up for it.

My mom worked more than my dad when I was a young girl.. My dad didn't work because he couldn't find a job due to his drug addiction. Without my mom I'm not sure how we would have survived. She's a strong woman to be able to deal with everything the way she did.

I remember my mother used to stay home and take care of my siblings and I while my father worked for a company that does construction.
My mother started working for a bus company when I was 10. It was around the time my father got fired from his job. He took care of things at home while she worked.
She still works at the same company. She's thinking about working somewhere else though.

My mother worked before she got married. She stopped doing that when she started having children. She went back to work when I hit middle school. (I'm the youngest.) And then she worked for the school district. And the whole time she was the one who drove all of us around to soccer and softball/little league practice.

She stopped working again after I left home...not sure why. But now she is the full time daycare provider for my nephews so my sister can work.

Yeah, she worked from home when we kids were too young for school. The moment the youngest started school she got a job (at the school we were all at). When we'd all left school, she got standard jobs. She's never worked full time (apart from before she was married), but - to be fair - she was a mother as well as working part-time for a long period of her life (twenty years between me being born and my brother turning 16 and going to work full-time himself).

Yes, definitely. Work ethic or whatever it's called is very important to my family. She can't really afford to stay off from work too long.:S Although, the typical gender roles are sort of reversed at my home. Not that my dad stays at home, either. My mam's the bread winner, though. Although, it's not hard to top my dad, he doesn't earn much for what he does.:/

Anyway, yes. She tends to have 2 jobs going. For the past few years, she's been studying to be a nurse, and has had part time jobs on the side.
