Crappy childhood (homeless a few times and very poor), crappy teen life(no friends, one parent in and out of jail, and I dropped out of school in 10th grade), crappy young adult life(had a child very young with a very irresponsible guy who already had 2 kids he wasn't taking care of and we were homeless often).
I have been turning that all around since age 25 and now at 30 I have to say life is getting pretty good. I went back to school to become a nurse and it was ******* hard to do, but I did it because I don't want my child to have a crappy childhood, and a crappy teen life.... and so on.

There should be an option like "I wish I had a time machine" or something like that, lol.

i have had a horrible childhood and now i have a horrible adult life with a child that i can't even provide for. her dad sucks and can't even provide for her either because he refuses to work any type of job unless it pays 50 grand a yr which is impossible to even get now a-days even with a college degree on ur hands. mind me he doesn't even have a college degree and expects to get a job like that. piece of shit father he won't take a fkn dishwasher busser job or driving job anywhere to make at least something to provide for her in the meantime. fuck i'm stressing too much.(i also have been trying very hard to get a job the last 2 months-i;m struggling. and no one in my piece of shit family will help because they never help any one in the family who needs it)

      @SillyKitty55
take responsibility for your own failings and stop blaming everyone else. the economy is still suffering and that's not his fault. you both need to start getting into the recession frame of mind like everyone else. try and learn to live cheaper, get into coupons, learn to cook, get into freebees, and diy. keep working to make it better. all you need is a fresh outlook and a better attitude and you can have a better quality of living than you ever had before.

Success has a slippery definition. A serial killer can be successful if his only plan is to kill people. Life is about how you respond to any situation good or bad. So, if we're still breathing, I'd say we have it pretty good. Success isn't material wealth. I was beaten as a child, raped in high school, and I let go of my family (not my husband and daughters)...you learn to steer clear of unhealthy situations.

My life was pretty good before I found this horrid site.

    Now everything is ruined.

Depends what you classify 'successful'....if you mean a perfect marriage, kids and a mortgage no but in my eyes yes,I own nothing, don't even have a place to call home at 44 but have learned a lot about myself and others in my time which is the most important thing to me. I'd change nothing so I guess 'yes' in my eyes but not in others eyes.

How many of us can say "my life is successful so far"? Life goes without being expected. It goes its own way whether or not i plan it

It's called karma...you create your "destiny" as you go along.

You sure do "Create your destiny..." sometimes you may even create enough of it to spill over into your next life.

Ultimately I am successful if in the next life I evolve past the state of humanity.

It could have been so much worse, so I have a lot to be happy about.

It could also be much better, but the only thing stopping it from being better is me and my flaws.

My life was destined to fail from the start, it's pretty depressing. When your family is poor, you're not going to get far in life. I don't have a good pick of careers because I went to a public school.

So, I've learned to find enjoyment in things beside work. I like to go to festivals and get weird.

Yea, except my parents wanted to get me adopted when I was little, my first girlfriend got hit by a car and died, my teacher used to hit me, I have been to the doctor twice so he could tell if I was mental insane, and the only girl I've really loved wanted to "just be friends", and then we never talked again. Besides from all that, I would say I've done pretty good :D

    My life's been good.

My sister is DAMN ANNOYING, and I almost always manage to break an arm or leg as soon I step outside, lol.

But apart from those, life's good.

I had a horrible childhood which shaped me into what I am today. I'm against beating your kids but seeing how I turned out I cannot really tell if my parents really did a bad job, or a really good job.
I'm introverted and a little neurotic, but I'm happily married and happily employed.
