Has music ever changed your life?

I've been listening to this band since I was 9. I love them and it's clear I'm a fan. A friend asked what I'd be like if they never existed. I thought about it, I'd be the same. Same school, same friends, same job.

Music hasn't really changed my life, but I hear people all the time talking about it changed theirs. Or that one song that explained it all. I'm starting to think that it's ridiculous and the fans are taking more seriously than the artists. Music is great of course, but it doesn't seem life changing.

How music changed my life, like many others, is that I found something that is always there to cheer me up, I found discipline and hard work playing music, I play for others making them happy, I met lots of people with my same intrests and I made lots of friends.

    I left drugs for music.

    That's a life changer.
Maybe you will never get it.

        • I didn't think about musicians, I'm sorry. I guess it's pretty obvious that your career would change your life.

I think music can help me with a lot of things. Not only do I enjoy it, but with really whatever situation I'm in theirs a song that tells a story similar to it. When I'm sad, I turn my music on and it gets me through it. Its like poetry. Usually every song has meaning behind it. Actually, thats probably about as life changing as its gonna get. It can really help you relate and cope with things.

The way I see it is that, music hasn't changed my life because music has always been a part of my life. Kind of impossible to know what things music has or hasn't influenced.

I probably felt that way when I was high. Effected me for a few days, probably. Then I get over it

Music has helped me through many a tought time. I know this will sound off but, unlike people it doesn't judge you and you can just feel it out without worrying about being rejected.
It has helped me and now i find myself writing music and hopign to inspire people like i myself was.
Music is my ultimate expression. It is a window into my soul.

    Hiya,

It's always been a part of my life, so I’m not sure whether it changed it or not. Then again I could've chosen not to focus on it as much as I have.

If it wasn't for music I would be bored out of my mind. I listen to it because my disability stops me doing a lot of other things. I'm always interested in what music other people like, just out of curiosity. Some people just aren't interested; I've never got how people can live like that.

It made me find my favourite TV show, which has also had an effect. I'm closer to my parents now because one of Dad's favourite bands is also mine. Since re-discovering said band I've started being creative again after being embarrassed by my creativity for years.

Music has changed my life. I used to think that I'm weird and that really affected my self-confidence. That's when I started listening to some bands and I feel like there are people who are similar to me, in terms of how we think especially. And that itself gives me the confidence to just be comfortable with who I am and that since I can't change the way I am, I might as well embrace it like some of these bands. Ultimately, this new perspective has changed my life.

When I was at a "Statesmen Quartet" concert 9 years previous it was during their beautiful version of "Just As I Am Without One Plea" is when I made my decision to make Christ as my Lord and Saviour

If it weren't for music and being a musician, I wouldn't be friends with my friends and haven't gone traveling with them. I wouldn't have made the friends I made this year beacause they are only friends with other musicians. I wouldn't have my carreer picked, and I would have nothing to do during the summer. I think I'd be a really boring person if it weren't for music.

  • I could imagine that it's the teenage girls that are saying "music changed my life, I listened to a cheesy love song and realized that I shouldn't be with my boyfriend because I love this other guy" and then it repeats all over again the next week with a whole new guy.

I have seen it happen quite a few times.
