Has anyone had a change in consciousness?

I have smoked marijuana just about everyday for 7-8 months, and now when I'm sober I don't feel sober. Is it possible that you can have a change in consciousness? because nothing is the same, everything is weird all the time, I dont really feel like I'm totally on earth. Its starting to scare me. Any ideas?

well what did you expect? To come down to earth with the sky clear and your senses good as knew? Hope it works out but you've pretty much screwed yourself.

If everyone took the blindfold off, we may realize who we are. You are not crazy, alone or even remotely abormal. We are all self absorbed in our pain, and thinking we are alone. That puts us in a cage more. The key to freedom is realizing we are all suffering, all beautifully flawed - if such a thing could exist. A change in consciousness is necessary to not go into the dark ages. Love is the answer. Don't believe anything otherwise.

if you stop smoking for a week it will go away.

i smoke pot daily and when i go on break for a week it is definitely different. it is almost trippy to become fully sober because it is so much different than the high life

i think thats' pretty standard.. after all, you've gotten your brain used to a certain state of consciousness..

Well, you just got a big dose of self-righteous reprimand from the conservative crowd. Ha, ha, ha. They never change.

Anyway, you didn't state how long you were "sober" for, just how long you were chronic. Maybe you aren't as "sober" as you thought. If you puff daily, then you might feel a bit sleepy (it's not a drugged feeling, just a slight fatigue) until the evening of the day after you have your last puff. And that's about it! You might feel the pangs of boredom a little more than normal for a few more days, but that goes away too. If you experience more than that, you might have something else wrong with you.

I puff daily (have for a few years), but I stop for about a week a few times a year (for vacations) and I've never had a problem going cold turkey for a bit.

Try a cup of coffee? :)

I experienced something akin when I was properly practicing Buddhism.

This is kind of the point. Take a drug to see what the altered state of consciousness feels like, then learn to get their on your own.

Jeez, it seems that everyone here doesn't understand anything about weed.

Weed doesn't alter your brain's structure or kill brain cells. The worst that it can do is possibly contribute to lung cancer, but there aren't enough studies to confirm that.

You just feel weird because weed alters your perception, and you became accustomed to it. Now you're sober so things are different because you're sober.

this is the point when you stop smoking for a while... not just a week... more like a month... maybe 2. whenever you feel sober again.

For the record, I'm a christian, so if that bothers you, maybe you need to consider that you may be prescribing moral beliefs that are your own - not God. Didn't he say something about everyone is made in his image?

I agree with the above. U have probably messed up ur head a little because u smoked it a lot. Perhaps if u cut down or completely stop then it will go away. I suggest u give it a break and see if it goes
    Away.

Wow, he stopped guys ok? Geez. And yea, it's totally normal to feel that way. Everything is weird because your do used to being high your mind makes itself believe you are. It'll pass with time, as brain tissue grows back ;) lol

Smoking weed doesn't destroy brain tissue (or brain cells). That's a myth.
