Has anyone encountered unhelpful supportive people?

These are some of the most irritating people. They are super supportive but not helpful in any way and a lot of times cant ever solve any issue. Since they always have this attitude "No worries". You could basically tell them "There is a bomb in the building" and they will be "No worries. Chill, nothing we can do about it". You will tell them "Someone is going to die" and they just say "You need a hug friend". Its also kind of hard to get mad at this people since they are so nice about everything.

Yes they drive me nuts 8

Oops, this is totally me. I hope you don't hate me.

My chilled out attitude comes from the philosophy "There's no point worrying about things you can't change"

    • Agreed. What's the point in stressing over things you can't change or have no control over.

Hmm. More annoying to me are the people who smuggly give "advice" that shows they don't really understand the size and shape of my problems at all. It's like; chill out on the saviour complex already, I just wanted to vent to you and have you validate my problems so I feel less insane but now you're tryna solve all my problems for me like you think you're a genius and I'm a damn kid.

    • I know someone one here who does that.

Yeah, this site totally encourages that sort of rubbish. The truth of the matter is that most advice given here could have been thought up by the OP themselves without much effort, and usually it has been. Unless you're prepared to put in an unusual amount of thought and sensitivity, advice is never particularly insightful. One of the reasons I don't bother coming here much anymore.

Yes, it reminds me of someone I used to know whose favourite phrase was, "But it's all good".

For example: "My girlfriend cheated on me, my mum died last month and I'm clinically depressed... but it's all good"
