    Love brings happiness but a lasting kind of happiness. Happiness can be a fleeting feeling whereas, in the well-put words of my ex-boyfriend, "love is a lifestyle." I see happiness as more of a side-effect than a definitive aspect of love, and if you love, you should derive happiness, but if you are happy, you have to discern whether you're pleasing yourself (ego) or another person (sacrifice which leads to love).
