Hallucinating from weed??

First off my freind is not a lightweight and he used to be borderline pot head. But past night he took one hit and Had an outer body experience and tripped the **** out. He was already dehaidrated before this and was really pale and wasn't feeling well. So we were sitting watching tv with like 5 other freinds who didn't smoke and he just screamed out "****!!" and banged his hands down on the couch the. Tryed to stand up but fell and got up and fell over again. He started screaming about random things (salamanders, iPhones, lacrosse) and ripped the blinds off and knocked a computer off a desk and yelled and looked out of the window and started freaking out then just snapped out of it. When he did, he didn't recognize us or know who he was or who we were. Trust me on this one he was NOT faking it he is usually calm and a heavyweight but he said his life will be changed forever. He said he tripped that he lived different life cycles and died every time he chewed his gum. He also said he couldn't explain anymore and some crazy **** about the meaning of life and existence. Anyway, what the **** caused this? Dehydration? I think he was sick with a fever Mabye?

Yes some people can certainly trip out from weed. Including myself, I have an anxiety disorder and I used to smoke weed every now and again. However, when I smoked last time I started thinking that I had important information and the government were after me. I was extremely paranoid for about 2 weeks. I also didn't have my perception of time and space and was having many panic attacks. I found the only way I could get out of the trip was to realise it wasn't actually 'real'. No one else could convince me but myself.

Please dont go near the stuff again mate. Thoughts like that are not a "trip" that sounds more like a psycotic break to me. Many people only suffer from one of these in their life times but if you keep smoking you could heighten the chance of having another and developing somthing more serious. Read my posts on this thread.

Deadly nightshade is a plant that when consumed causes hallucinations and then death. Just because it's a plant doesn't make it natural to consume.

Your friend had a dehydrated brain and was consuming a depressant, those don't mix and neither does smoking on a regular basis and weed.

The weed was probably laced with pcp.

No it probably wasnt. Weed can cause very real mental health problems. Its frustrating when people are quick to say it could be laced. This is dangerous advice because people may belive it and continue to smoke weed when they have underlying mental health problems.

People have been smoking this plant for thousands of years. I do not see your point or evidence. What is dangerous is to believe deeply ingrained media propaganda.

What is equally dangerous is being naive and thinking its harmless...

I agree with you, it is dangerous to belive the media properganda, they exagerate the risks. Its counter productive on their behalf because people such as yourself then dont belive any of the FACTS that are intergrated with their lies.

Anyway, notice i said it can be bad if you have "underlying problems", well how is anyone to know if they have an underlying problem? For a start if you trip out smoking weed its a pretty big give away.

A quick search on google will bring up thousands of storys on people developing lasting problems after weed. Most schizophrenic forums are flooded with people who belive smoking brought out the illness.
Would they have developed it later in life had they not smoked? Maybe, maybe not but thats somthing they will have to live with for the rest of their lives.

My point? My evidence? It happend to me. It doesn't get any realer than that. I tripped out on regular weed when all of my mates were just stoned. I smoked for years with no problems untill then and now i have lasting anxiety which is ruining my life.

Im not against weed, im just against people like you who put people at risk with their advice. The dangers are real my freind, hopefully you will never have to witness them.

First off, stop labeling me as "you people" or "people like you" because if you have a problem don't do it over the internet. Why? because you don't know the first thing about me so you cannot judge me, so stop.

Second, maybe I opened my mouth much to soon before time was necessary, but I'm going to point out that you don't know my career path I'm exploring. Like you give a Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. Which is not simply Cognitive Theory, but a host of other studies which simply show Paranoia schizophrenia could possibly be not just a simple disease of the mind, because just what is not not normal to society does not mean it is a disorder. I also believe that the mind is much more powerful than it is given credit, and the plant may just open your mind to a more deep psyche of yourself. I say stop blaming the plant because developing schizophrenia from smoking it, it is not the case for everyone. So obviously it effects other people differently. There are dangers to it, pretty much like almost everything else. Many people are allergic to peanut butter. Let's ban peanut butter then for those that have died from exposure, or had attacks at restaurants because they didn't know they would become allergic and eating it "brought" it out.

Last...man...what advice did I give? That you shouldn't believe too much media propaganda? That's putting people at risk?

Look mate, you have kinda missed my point. My issue was with the kid who said it was "probably laced" because like i said, it probably wasnt. Weed can bring out a psycotic expirience in someone who has never had any problems before. What if the kid does have problems and decides to smoke again on the belief that his previous weed was laced when it may not have been? What if thats the tipping point that leads him into dellusion?

You decided to pipe up and say you disagreed and asked for my evidence so i gave you it.

Your reply doesnt really address the points i made or the original argument, i wasnt talking about the nature of schizophrenia or the legality of smoking the herb.

Maybe the weed was laced with something else? It could just be the weed though. Did he also not eat anything? I would really consider not smoking because of health reasons but if you guys are going to keep using it make sure you are also taking care of yourselves. Weed makes you dehydrated on it's own and if he was already dehydrated he might end up needing to go to the hospital to get fluids. Make sure you are not taking anything else while smoking in case of unseen side effects. Get it from people who are trustworthy. Make sure you have something to boost your immune system. Eating and drinking healthy foods with a lot of Omega 3 and calcium for example. Be certain the tools you are using are clean as well as other things around you. Don't inhale to deeply or have weed baked foods on hand while smoking. The best thing you guys can do is stop smoking weed because it has even worse effect on your lungs than cigarettes. It destroys your immune system so any illnesses you catch will be extremely worse than how it would be if you had a healthy immune system. Weed also alters your mind and not just when you are smoking it. Over time your impulse control, memory, and most importantly your mood stability will be affected a lot more than you think. I've seen and met a lot of people who have had their lives put on hold, for years even, because they were dependent on weed or need to recover from it. YOU WILL NEVER COMPLETELY HEAL from using weed and the longer you use it the worse off you will be. Not to mention that your people who are high can commit awful crimes while on it. Next time your buddy may attack or even kill you.

It sounds like your friend actually did absolutely trip balls off of this particular weed that he smoked. It's possible that it was laced, but it may not have been. I wouldn't say this deems that he has underlying issues of a permanent nature. The fact that he says it was life changing makes me think that you could look at this as a legitimately spiritual experience of some kind. However, it sounds like at the time he basically just went insane so I'd say he probably shouldn't smoke anymore if there's a risk he could flip out again

I'm really starting to be convinced that there are alternate realities and this one we are conceiving now is just a paltry crumb to the giant Thanksgiving dinner of actually what does EXIST
