Hallucinated on weed

Isnt the first time i hallucinate on small drugs, first time was with hash and it happened multiple times then, some days ago i smoked weed and couldnt breathe, move my body and my heart was too fast, I had some fucked up hallucinations and i got scared, thought i was dying. I have some mental illness, discovered that im an asperger (not that deep) and highly gifted, my father was a schizofrenic or bipolar and my family has a big legacy of mental illnesses. Is it my body? (The weed or hash wasnt laced)

I don't believe the Asperger's has anything to with it. There are studies being done that show that it can actually replace Depakote and Geodon, along with the other meds you may be on to combat symptoms.

Not knowing what your mental health issues are, I'm guessing it may be that. You may have either a chemical imbalance or even a physiological problem in your brain. When the cannabinoids latch on to the receptors in your brain, the receptor could misfire, or perhaps they are combining with a chemical already in your brain. Perhaps if you are on Depakote for a mood stabilizer it may affect how cannabinoid is absorbed in your brain.

A friend of mine had seizures on a daily basis. Living in Michigan, he applied and was approved for Medicinal Marijuana. When he first started it, it was to help alleviate side effects of his meds and to act as a tertiary antiepileptic. Yet, his first time, within twenty minutes he had a gran mal and nearly snapped his back from spasming. And every time he tried afterwards, too. While this was stupid of him to do without the supervision of a medical professional, he stopped taking his meds and ate half a pan of pot brownies his caretaker made for him. Not only was he not a freaking zombie off his meds, he stopped having seizures all together, provided he dosed regularly.

All in all, is make sure it's not just your mental condition, check about any medications, whether prescribed or over-the-counter/herbal remedies. Any of these may only cause slight chemical changes, but when taking something else on top, can produce drastic effects.

    Good luck to you!

Weed, especially hash, can bring up some minor hallucinations. You honestly probably just greened out from smoking too much. However if you're hearing clear voices in your head when you smoke I would stop, normal auditory hallucinations are more like sirens or peoples voices being distorted.

If you have mental health problems and Aspergers I think using weed may not be a good idea. I stopped smoking weed a long time ago as I felt it produced a kind of 'split' in my psyche (hard to describe but that's the best way I can describe it).

I stopped smoking weed cold turkey and for me it was the best thing ever. I felt had I continued it would have led to all kinds of mental health problems in the long term.

I have had some pretty bad reactions with weed, this happened to me last year, it could be a strand your not used to and smoked too much of it in a bad situation and couldn't control your body or you could have smoked with someone who can handle a certain level of bud that you could not

If you've done a lot of phychedelics recently, that would make sense. There are times I've gotten way higher on weed than I thought possible. It felt like a trip more than a relaxed high, but I did research chems and psychedelics in the summer time and they can have lasting side effects for quite some time.

I just giving my opinions, many people may not agree...

Honestly, I had to Google asperger. Not to sound rude, but was that self diagnosed? If not, how did they discover you have it? There doesn't seem to be any standardized testing for it, and if so, they should have noticed symptoms when you were a young child.

I had to quit recently, but I have smoked weed for many, many years. Decades. I have smoked some of the best on the planet, and I have never hallucinated. I've had small panic attacks when I thought I was 'too high', but have never had visuals. As I'm sure you are well aware, it is impossible to OD and die from weed.

My advice? A few things... Number one, don't let anybody pressure you into doing it, only do it if you are comfortable with it. Don't use it as an escape, being high will not make your problems go away.

Maybe just take a hit or two, and see what happens. Just relax and enjoy. If you think you're going to freak out, you probably will.

I'm not sure if the effects would be 'different' with someone with a mental disorder. In my opinion, weed is safer than ANY of the medications they prescribe, those you CAN O.D. and/or die from. Ok, I was maybe a little crabby when I had to quit, but i certainly didn't need detox. Again, my opinion; Marijuana is a mental addiction, not a physical one.

Was it really potent weed ? Maybe just something you weren't used to? Just curious, what were your hallucinations of?

Sorry, I tend to babble, a lot... :)

A psychiatry diagnosed it. The allucinations were all about psychadelic shits, disney characters, flashbacks, trance, getting out of the body, third view person, i could see my inside body, and i multiple orgasms

Hell, that sounds like fun. Especially the orgasms. But if it's a problem for you I'd suggest just not smoking as much next time

You shouldn't hallucinate on weed.. I think it's counteracting and affecting your mental illness so you should stop.

No, that's not normal. I started having a reaction off weed almost 2 years ago where it would effect my breathing, then I would have a full blown panic attack. I was rushed to the hospital with what I thought was a heart attack, but an anxiety attack can have the same symptoms as a heart attack. There are over 100 different side effects from anxiety, and thinking you're about to die is one. My breathing would be labored, my heart would race, and I was so nervous I really couldn't stop moving. I didn't hallucinate, but everyone gets a different set of symptoms based on the chemical makeup in their brains. Depersonalization can have an effect where it feels your soul has been removed from your body. I stopped smoking, and even though it got a lot worse before it got better(I used to have panic attacks in my sleep, even though I had a bout of insomnia and barley slept). Now I rarely have them

Here is a list of some of the symptom of anxiety/panic( there are many more):
Feelings of panic, fear, and uneasiness
    Problems sleeping
Cold or sweaty hands and/or feet
    Shortness of breath
    Heart palpitations
An inability to be still and calm
    Dry mouth
Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet
    Nausea
    Muscle tension
    Dizziness

Here is an article on hallucinations and anxiety disorders.
