you could have a cyst on your ovary which causes your body to produce extra testosterone. probably a good idea to go to your doctor and get some tests done.
Actually many women have unwanted facial hair. It could be hereditary, or it could be PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome), which causes excess hair growth, weight gain, excreta. It's good to get it checked out to be on the safe side, but it certainly doesn't make you a freak or anything. Women have been absolutely amazing at disguising the fact that we have hair in weird places too for centuries. It's this huge, unspoken secret because modern society considers it to be unfashionable and 'unfeminine'. I'm not saying chin hair will ever come into Vogue, but women only started shaving their armpits over an article in Harper's Bizarre not exactly all that long ago. Just think about that for a little bit. :) If you're concerned about your fuzz, some inexpensive options are shaving (which dose not make it grow thicker, common myth.) waxing, plucking with tweezers, depilatory cream and bleach. When you're older and you can afford it, there's also laser treatments and electrolysis which are more permanent solutions, but do not last forever (as hair has a 7 year growth cycle and hair can be prompted to grow more with hormonal changes to the body.) In short, don't worry! :) I remember being super concerned that my boyfriend would be grossed out by ANY body hair at all,- and then the jerk comes around and tells me allll about his old crush and how CUTE he thought her MUSTACHE was. -Just goes to show you. :P
I agree with everyone up there. I speak from experience. I've struggled with unwanted chin hair (to the point where I HAVE to shave it, or I look like I'm trying to grow a small beard) due to a hormone imbalance for over many years now. Earlier this year I found out I had a huge cyst on my ovary. I had the cyst removed and thankfully, that has seemed to correct my hormone as well. The hair is still there, but it's not as bad and doesn't grow as fast or as much as it used to. It's always good to have it looked into, you never know what could be going on inside your body!
