Guys: what traits in a girl turn you off?

Most of the girls I hang with are highly intelligent, but for some reason one of them pretends she is an absolute air head when she is around a guy. it may have been okay in the thirties and forties but now women do have to be an air head.
I'm a smart girl and I can hold my own in a debate. I am mechanically inept but I read and understand mechanical terminology.
I am blonde and get upset when blonde jokes are told.
I am intelligent, have a masters degree in Psychology and I write.
I like it when a man pays attention to me but I refuse to be a giggling bimbo to make him think he is superior.

Meaness, can't STAND a bitch.

Girls who act dumb and/or act clumsy. I once had a girlfriend who would fall over, talk like a baby and make big eyes to look cute. It felt like I was dating a baby instead of a girl 2 years younger than me. I dumped her :]

To the people who critsize girls who act 'dumb' isn't that being slightly harsh? I mean I can be smart most of the time in an academic sense but at the same time I have limited common sense. I'm not INTENTIONALLY trying to do stupid things. -.-

I picked meaness. Nothing is a bigger turn off than that. Acting stupid is just that...an act. Many women use that in their vast arsenal of manipulative manuvers...which in itself is clever...and cleverness is a turn on.

It's interesting that "acting dumb" got so many hits.

I remember being in a class back in high school where people were listing what traits they liked best, and... a good number of the guys wanted girls who weren't as smart as they were.

One of my coworkers too, he use to complain about his wife and after his divorce he complained about his girlfriends... for being stupid. The problem is.. that's what he was attracted to in the first place.

Guys are dumb not girls

Only two I can think of really:

Unnecesary high pitched voice/laughing/giggling.
Making stupid faces/pouting/lips/expressions

The Stone-Cold Truth: None of those really turns off us guys (assuming the girl in question is a dimepeice)

Meanness: Might intimidate most guys. These wussys will be crying themselves to sleep at night wishing they got the girl.

Loudness: Might intimidate many guys. Guy would still wanna fuck her.

Laughs all the time: If anything, it turns guys on. knowing that she'll submit to everything he does sounds good right.

Acting dumb because they think it's cute: [see previous answer]

Random moodswings: Might make the guy avoid her sometimes, but would make for some interesting sex.

All the above, But I just hate meanness. Especially a women who try and fight men, I mean like she is Snookie's height and wants to have a fight with Chuck Norris.

I hate loud girls, I'm a quiet guy and respect a girl that doesn't have to talk just to hear her own voice.

When are girls going to evolve past the dumb act? I believe the answer is when guys stop being so easily entertained. Movies, television, & music all convince guys that all they need is a damaged girl with daddy issues to get their dick hard. What they fail to picture is them doing the same little ditsy act for the dick just before you, you're nothing special. Up the standards my friends.

All of the above, except for the laughing. The biggest turn off is when they act dumb. Maybe dumber guys might be intimidated by a girl that's smarter than they, but I like a girl that can actually challenge me and who can understand what I'm saying without my having to dumb it down.

god, there's this girl She Who Shall Not Be Named who was in one of my classes in highschool. omg, she did the whole dumb blonde, pouty face/lips, high pitched annoying giggle, mean-bitch-spreading-rumers thing. I hated the girl. ugh, I cringe to even think of her name. Most annoying girl on this planet, and yet all those stupid jocks loved her. She must've had three boyfriends a week. i think that its not fair to say that girls being dumb sometimes is a turn-off. i'm a girl who is generally very smart, but i have times when i just cant think and i am perceived as quite dumb. also, sometimes when i am around guys that i fancy, i can't seem to think too well, so people could think that i am trying to act dumb around them. i'm against blonde jokes, and many times people have said that i should have been born blonde. that hurts! i don't try to be dumb, i just sometimes am!

I don't bother giving girls/women who act dumb attention because they get enough from other guys who are entertained by it. Not me, though. I want a girl who I don't have to 'dumb shit down' for. A girl who is actually competent and isn't easily manipulated by other guys. ;)

Meanness? Like someone else said earlier, I can't stand a bitch. You know, those girls who love love love to talk shit and air other girls' dirty laundry -whenever, wherever they can. I. Can't. Freaking. Stand it.

I chose the acting dumb routine because it's plain annoying. I don't mind sensual people, but the one-dimensional woman seems outdated to me. (i.e. Someone who's only redeeming feature is their looks.) Except for maybe in the adult film industry or in prostitution.

Meanness is pretty much just as much of a turn-off, but I could only pick one thing. Hopefully in this day and age, people realize that ugly behavior makes an ugly person. (I kept the terms unisex, because I don't want to associate kindness with any gender.)

The biggest turn-off to me is unwillingness to compromise. I had this one GF who would go so far as to say that day is night, and wouldn't so much as give a vague inference as to being wrong.

Girls that crave attention i was in class the other day and when my teach asked what is your favorite famous person. She's like" osama bin laden" and it wasnt even serious she just wanted attention + shes a BLONDE

Acting dumb. Because in reality, girls like that are usually ACTUALLY dumb and now they appear even dumber. And then when they drop the act for a second and you cling to the hope of some engaging intellect that you pray will pop out, you get a face full of regular old dumb and you realize that you've been scammed.

It's like the old saying goes. "She walks like an idiot, and talks like an idiot, but don't let that fool you. She really is an idiot."

Happy trails are a slight turnoff. So are extreme height in either direction, a boring face, utter bitchiness, hanging with the "cool" crowd, being very dirky, having untamed hair, and doing drugs.

Random mood swings are normal, it's called a period.

I'm a girl and I would just like to say that the "dumb act" IS an act. I've used it before myself and everyone I know that has used it has been smart. When I did use the act I got attention, which is what I wanted but all the guys I didn't want fell for me and the guy I wanted claimed I wasn't smart enough for him. I myself am in all honors classes and have As in every class. Every girl I see acts dumb on purpose to get a guys attention. Believe it or not, I bet every guy reading this has fell for a girl who acted dumb. If you don't like it, then why fall for it?

in my case I seem to attract females with all the traits listed... not in a sexual way but they seem to be the only ones I'm surrounded by most of the time

omg my ex gf was the loudest talker i've ever met in my life, i hated going out in public with her and was so uncomfortable the entire time. i don't need people 50 yards away listening to our conversations/ her dumb ass.

This is kind of like the acting dumb choice but I hate it when a girl talks like a baby because she thinks its cute. Its like theres a reason your voice changes as you GROW UP, so u wont sound like that anymore I mean geez!!! All of the above. There is a fellow classmate of mine in college that has "loudness, random mood swings and tries to act dumb for attention." There is also a girl that laughs all the time she cant finnish a sentence without laughing through it. It irritates me to a point that I just want to shut them up but if I do so then I would have too much negative attention directed towards me which I would hate because I cant stand listining to either of them and if I said something they would be compelled to talk to me even more. None of them have actualy directed anything towards me which is why I really havent said anything to them but if they challenge me I would be sure to return the favour.

i can't stand for a guy or girl to act dumb. i knew this guy that said he always liked his girfriends to be smarter than him so that he wouldn't have to think. who wants a guy that doesn't want to think for himself. the other thing is people that laugh for no reason. like a nervous laugh when they feel insecure or laugh when they're actually mad. uhg what a turn off!
