Guys: pale skin or tanned?

Hey everyone! So, all my life I have been the palest of pale (not kidding when I say I'm not too far off from being the actual color of white), with dark brown, almost black hair with hazel/green eyes. I've been given compliments by guys telling me that I'm beautiful/pretty, but also have been told that I look like a vampire, as well as having to grow up thinking that tanned skin looked healthier and was more aesthetically pleasing. My question to all you guys out there is: is fair skin unattractive? Does it matter to you? Thanks :)

Everyone looks best with their natural skin tone, too many people tan and look ridiculous like old shoe leather. A lot of pale people are beautiful! Dita Von Teese Scarlet Johansen the red haired lady from Mad Men they are pale and look good.

Honestly it doesnt matter as along as its healthy looking, orange or leathery tanned skins isnt attractive at all. But there is something to be said about every skin tone from pale, to tan, to brown, to black.

To me it more depends on the individual, i range from very pale (casper the friendly ghost) to a nice tan if im in the sun alot.

But the irish in me demands that to tan, i always have to get burnned first >8o

  Ah true, the "Tan mom" look isn't too cute, I'll agree. I can't in no way shape or form tan, so it's either Casper for me or a lobster :)

I prefer anybody with pale skin, aslong as it suits them. I love my pale skin, too. Pale skin FTW!

    Bleh. I know what that feels like, being in a school filled with people with really fake tans, dyed black hair, eyebrows shaved off and drawn back on. Horrid.

        You've never seen it? God, it's weird, so many women do it, they shave them off and draw them back in. Aha. And too many to count, I moved around a lot. :)

        Hmm, well I know girls that fill them in, and sometimes they look *too* perfect, but never shaved off completely and drawn back in:P And lucky you, I'd love a new scenery every once and a while :)

    i always have preferred pale skin since i can remember! i never understood this obsession people have with being tan so much so that they would risk skin cancer by laying in one of those disgusting tanning beds! you have nothing to be self-conscious about from the way you described yourself you sound absolutely gorgeous!

I always struggle to make these black & white decisions about what I find attractive in a girl.
I can be fussy but I don't have a type as such

Tanned (naturally) can be gorgeous as can snow-white pale...
NFI why but I also have a thing for tan lines which is really a bit of both.

Doesn't matter to me, just depends on the girl but pale skin can definitely be extremely attractive

Like everyone else, I'm positive that you are absolutely drop dead gorgeous to some and less so to others. You sound very beautiful and I do not think you should worry at all. Absolutely the last thing you should do is doubt yourself or be down on yourself, ever. There are plenty of shallow, ignorant people who will gladly put you down, just to make themselves feel better. Never buy into their line.

  I have the same mentality! Some people whom I think are absolutely handsome/beautiful aren't in some other people's eyes, and vice versa. Thank you for your comment, it certainly has made me feel better on such a crappy night. :)

Are you specifically talking about caucasians/whites?

Personally, I think there are beautiful white girls with pale skin and tanned skin. I have no preference, though I do think natural is usually better.

I don't think you should worry too much about your skin tone.

Don't have a preference. It's like asking what color hair or eyes I like on a woman. If they're well put together none of that matters much.
