Guy/scarred face/make-up appropriate?

Okay in my younger teen years I had a major problem picking at my face, usually spots and then the resulting scabs. A few years down the line and, while the compulsion has improved, I am now scarred from having picked at so much of my face. I'm not pockmarked and most of the scars aren't deep, but they're bad enough so I feel very subconscious in daylight or in bright light, when all skin imperfections become very noticeable.

I already use a simple concealor stick, because otherwise I probably couldn't leave the house most days, but would it be appropriate to use foundation/ blush/ etc (I know d*ck about make-up at the moment) to improve my overall looks and improve my self esteem?? I've got a long history of anxiety and depression and my skin is often a triggering factor... so my question is, would it be normal/appropriate to use full on make-up to improve my quality of life?

I'm a nineteen year old GUY, remember ;)

Thanks.

Do whatever makes you feel good. It's you're life, if it'll make you happy then go for it! If anybody else has a problem with that then they can just shut the f**k up :D

Scars actually dont look bad on guys. I went to the pet store and a guy who works there seemed self-conscious about his acne and scars but i actually found him to be very attractive even with em. And i think its normal for you to want to wear makeup. If it makes you feel better then thats all that matters :)

For some reason, I have a tendency to like guys with scars... as weird as it may be, it's awesome to me... Actually every guy I ever went out with had scars. So yeah... it's normal to feel insecure.

I think as long as you don't overdo it on the concealer you'll be alright. Just spot treat... meaning, just put a small dab on the scars. Make sure the concealer is the right color for you so it's not noticeable. If you need help picking out the right shade, go to a makeup counter in the mall. I'm sure they'd be glad to help!

I think you'd be better off without make-up on as a guy. Wouldn't you be more subconscious about people thinking your a transvestite?

I don't know much about makeup either. They do it in Hollywood so I don't see why you couldn't do it either. Have you considered seeing a skin doctor about it? They can probably help you out.
