Guy i like keeps talking about his celebrity crushes. is it normal?

The guy I like texts me all the time and we have really interesting conversations about all sorts of things.
We work together and we're always using the instant messaging platform to talk to each other about other topics (not work related). He always initiate it!
When we're alone he can't look me in the eye and he gets really shy. But when we text he's really comfortable with me. Lately he's been talking about his celebrity crushes and I really don't get why. He says things like "I'm so in love with her" or "Her accent drives me crazy" about actresses/characters on TV shows. It's not that I'm jealous of it (because that would be stupid) but it's the reason behind it that bothers me. Does he see me just as a friend? Am I at the friendzone? Is it possible he's doing it just to make me jealous (somehow) or is he trying to tease me?

    He's either trying to make you jealous, trying to tell you he's not interested, or he just doesn't think anything of it. Either way, no offense but he sounds kind of immature. It's okay to have famous/fictional crushes but there's a such thing as moderation.

    It's normal to be a little jealous, I envy a certain reality TV star whom my crush likes. I don't get mad at her cause that's childish, I just want him to think I'm pretty too. Sorry, I'm rambling now lol

      Ahah Thanks! :) I want him to think I'm pretty too but we're not in a romantic relationship so my only concern is why does he keep talking about all these hot women with me, you know?
      On the other hand he seems really interested in me. IDK I'm confused with all these mixed signals!

    sounds like he likes you but doesn't know how to tell you so he talks about his celeb crushes instead as a way to sort of break the ice. you should encourage him to open up to you but make it clear that the way he's doing it is awkward and he should be honest with his feelings for you and himself.

    Sounds to me like he thinks you two have girl/girl bff relationship and he's sharing his most intimate secrets with you.
    Maybe you can invite him and your other girl friends for a sleep over and you can all do your make up and hair together and gossip about your crushes all night.
