Guy friend constantly tells me he loves me

My guy friend and I have been friends for about a year and 5 months and it was a love hate relationship. but in the last few months we've gotten closer and he now tells me that he loves me ALL the time. Everyday when we're just in the middle of a conversation and at the end of it. I say it back but only because I feel mean if I don't. It makes me feel really uncomfortable and I don't know what to do about it.

    When someone says, "I love/like you," randomly is a short, simple confession. Friends dont just say that out the blue, and everyday.

    The issue here is you're not being honest and just going along with it. The bad thing is, he probably think he's your boyfriend and telling him the truth will feel like a break up, which will ruin the friendship for a while.

    He probably really digs you as more than a friend, if you don't feel the same I think it's time to have a serious conversation with him. Also I think it's okay for you to tell him that you love him as a brother or as a Platonic friend.

    Then don't say I love you if you don't mean it. Now he thinks the two of you have mutual feelings. I think it's best that you two talk about it.

    Its ambiguous really because the phrase "I love you" is so easily thrown around these days. He could simply mean he loves you as a person . My sister has been friends with a guy for about 4 yrs now and they often tell each other they love one another. She's told me she sees him as a brother nothing more & he's also fine with this because they're best friends. In all honesty- us IIN people don't know if he has romantic feelings but if you're uncomfortable with him telling u that he loves you, you ought to tell him this. End of.

    Well, now you've been dishonest with him it's going to be even more uncomfortable, isn't it? What sort of friend are you, to lie about your feelings when he obviously loves you?

    You need to be clear with him ASAP and stop playing stupid games.
