Guilt over eating meat

I put this in the food section but it could also be under beliefs .
I like the idea of being vegetarian but lately I really feel bad after eating any kind of animal flesh. I hate the way animals are abused and raised in terrible conditions just for us to eat. I wouldn't have as much guilt if something was wild caught like deer or fish but I'm really considering just stopping meat consumption.
The biggest reason I haven't done it is because I hate the idea of preachy annoying vegetarian stereotypes.

I have tried to be a vegetarian, because I think, well, I don't wanna be preachy here so I won't say. I usually just skip the meat, say no thank you and go about my business with the rest of the meal. Most meat eaters can't handle that. They always demand to know why I'm not having the fried liver, or the pork roast, or the whatever meat there is. When I say I'm trying to be vegetarian they want to know why? When I say I believe vegetarianism is better for my health then they start saying things like "bullshit", and start preaching to me about the benefits of eating meat, and "where do you get your protein?", blah blah blah. Meat eaters are a lot more argumentitive and preachy than vegetarians.

We are designed to eat meat and fruit/veggies. So having a balanced diet of meat and vegetables is actually very good for you. You choose to be vegetarian in a lot of cases because of morality, or people who eat too much and want to lose weight. Its not normal for people to not eat meat though. A lot of vegetarians need to take special vitamins in order to get all the nutrients they need. I think in general the preachy ones are not really "Vegetarians" but "Vegans". Vegetarians in general seem to take themselves less serious. If you dont want to eat meat that is totally up to you. However pretending you are a god and holier for not eating meat, or eating meat is horribly obnoxious. The reason we can choose to cut certain things out of our diet is because we are designed to eat both. However since vegetables help you poop it probobly makes more sense to cut out the meat first. I found Vegan videos of a Vegan saying why she cant date or associate with meat eaters since its against her morals. It was kind like a Christian saying "I cant be around Jews since Im Christian". Some people treat what you eat like a fucking religion!

    • Believe it or not most religions teach that God allowed humans to eat meat because of our inherent weakness. Not that I'd ever say that to a meat lover:)

Bullshit. And now I will start to preach to you about why I am right and you are wrong: Animals love to be eaten. That's why they are made out of meat. Meat that evolve into hamburgers. So there. Now I will close my ears and repetitively say the word "na" in a rhythmic pattern as to not listen to your reply to this.

"Meat eaters are a lot more argumentative and preachy than vegetarians".

BTW, aren't you the same "mypenisinyourmouth" that answered another question 3 weeks and 6 days ago saying you had never eaten a hamburger?

If you really want to stop eating meat, that's fine, but you will need to do a lot of research and learn how to eat healthy without animal protein.
Being a vegetarian is not just about not eating meat. It means a whole change in diet.

If God didn't want us to eat animals he wouldn't have made em out of meat.

I'm a vegan. I don't seem to be a stereotype. If you wanna become vegetarian just do it but be you.

Yeah you should become a vegan. I'm transitioning to vegan, but I already eat organic stuff from trader joe's and the healthy home market. Also, bugs are a greater source of protein than meat, and healthier for the environment.

So replace meat with other meat? Yeah good old vegetarianism.

Ha, okay xD. I should just say organic then.

Animals are given better conditions when raised on certified organic farms. So if you eat meat you can get that kind and feel less guilty.

It's not your problem if other people are offended by your choices but it is definitely on you to make your own meals.

I tried it for a year and my only advice is that you do your research.

Also quinoa is your friend. One of the few complete vegetarian proteins and can soak up flavour well. Try this recipe here for example. However I would only use 1 can of black beans.

I don't eat pork and instead of making it awkward around new people I'll simply tell them it's against my religion.

Boil some stock and throw in some couscous, remove from heat, put a lid on and wait 5 minutes. It's the most versatile bed to put anything on I've ever cooked with on top of and super easy and convenient.
