My wife and I have some new neighbors. A black couple that we had an instant liking to. So we invite them over for a bite and a few drinks. My wife invited another couple, friends of her's (not mine), thinking it would prove to be an interesting evening. About an hour before everyone was to arrive, my wife gets a call on her cell. Her invited friends want to know why weren't they told that the other couple was black? Someone else in our building had told them. My wife's reply, with a sarcastic smile in her voice, was, You know so and so, the two of you really need to go fuck yourselves. Then she pushed the red button on her cell phone and gave me a big smile. Then she explained to me what had just happened. Was this cool? Or normal? Had a great few hours with our new neighbors. We are now good friends. Was my wife a little rude to the other couple? Or did they deserve it for coming on so racist? Our new neighbors are really wonderful people.

        I don't know about the rest of America but I never see anything racist where I am. It seems like %50 of the population here is non-white and everybody gets along fine.

          I say the pacific north west is the least racist area of America. But trust me plenty of racists live there. They have a sizable skinhead population. The south gets a bad rap but the north east is just as racist. The most racist place in the USA is NYC. When I say racism I don't just mean white people. I mean every race. I think you are looking at this from a white point of view.

            I've heard Idaho has racism. In the Seattle area I see none. It may just be the places I hangout are that way though. I've heard Seattle is the most racially diverse place in the U.S.

              I have no doubt that Seattle is the most non racist place in America, but I'm sure some exists. Saying there is none is like when the president of iran said there were no homosexuals in iran.

    Perhaps it is just me, but I can't help but to feel that your wife handled the situation immaturely. The photo was unnecessary as was her words. People are racists. No need to get upset about that. No need to stop having manners. She could have politely asked them not to come.

      What photo? Arseholes like that should be told their behaviour is disgusting, instead of tiptoeing around it. What's the point in being polite if they are so rude? It would just be fake and unnecessary, as I'm sure (well I hope) she doesn't want to be friends with them anymore.
