Great fear of water

Ok to start off I don't fear water itself. I am deeply terrified of lakes and ponds! I'm scared to go in one. I'm scared of what might be lurking in the water. I'm not talking about monsters or germs necessarily. I honestly don't know what it is that I fear so much. Like the Amazon river. Who knows the the f*ck is in there?!??! Besides the obvious.. But yeah I think there's going to be snakes or man-eating fish or something. Maybe a croc? So is it normal to fear ponds/lakes/rivers for fear of not knowing what is in them?
Oh btw I mean like places where you can't really see to the bottom. Murky water. Whatever you know what I mean.

I have that fear too, if I can't see what's going on in there I DON'T want to know. The deeper it is the creepier it is.

That's seriously normal. I live on a lake and in the summer it's always murky and yucky :P, but there are some parts where it's just wet sand and not mud and seaweed. My friend is terrified of seaweed, I don't know why. I was a little creeped out by it, too, when I first moved here. Also my half-brother hates the water and its unknown creatures too. It's normal! ^_^

Being afraid of the unknown stuff that lurks inside deep waters seem normal to me.

  • Well, in some movies they usually involve a scene that involves things being in the water. I kind of have fear of water and as such but it also depends on the atmosphere for me.

I love to swim and grew up doing so in rock quarries, lakes, rivers, etc. Even though I'm used to it, I still find murky water to be creepy. My boyfriend, however, is deeply afraid of deep water and not being able to see the bottom. It's a completely understandable fear and you're totally normal.
