There's got to be some type of gardening forum where this question would be better suited...I mean, the folks here are experts on dingleberries and man berries, but not goose berries.

Perhaps I'm wrong and someone can help.

Gooseberries need some complex conditions to bear fruit. I only have experience with them in wilderness areas, but they seem to like being relatively close to rivers in somewhat shady spots. I'd do some more research on what the proper conditions for Gooseberries are. I would guess that they like acidic soil, because they hang out in coniferous forests.

It could be that the soil doesnt have the proper amount of nutrition that it needs. Try using fertiluzer and plant food.

Why eat a fruit you have to add loads of sugar to?

  • I've never grown those but I'm guessing you don't have a very good plant.
