I would like to add a twist to the mundane and frequently-asked question about the enjoyment of the smell of one's own farts. We all know that this is normal.
However, whenever I empty my bowels, I always take a look at what I have passed. This too, is normal, I believe. What I wonder is this...
I never feel repulsed by what I see in the toilet bowl but if I were to see another person's 'offerings', as it were, I would bet my bottom shilling that I would feel very nauseaus.
Why might this be?

    It's because it's your poo. It's kind like when someone has a ugly child. They know it's ugly, but it came from them so there are exceptions.

    I'm extremely proud of my dumps. To be honest, I've had some spectacular looking turds in my time. I believe, one was even intelligently, sentient, and could recite me the latin ;).

    I think it's a health thing. I always like to look there to see the color; the lighter the better. Those black ones you get after eating McD's and coffee are toxic, and I don't like to see them that dark. Plus, I don't know what this means, but in Basic Instinct, what's-his-name gets asked if he 'looks' by his shrink department on a phych evaluation. I don't know if they actually do this to real detectives (probably not!), but it's something to feed the brain! (and get pooped out by it.. :)
