Give me some words that don't &/or do sound like what they mean please :)

For example:
In my opinion,

"Discombobulated" sounds exactly like you're confused and that's what it means.

While...

"Nugatory" meaning of no value/unimportant sounds like, well... not that to me.

what are some examples you can think of?

    Perpetuate sounds appropriate to me

I think its the β€œp” sounds and short Syllable

And Nugatory sounds close to negatory, or it makes me think of a robot lawyer yelling it out in court

I dunno, but I suddenly thought of a cop saying perpetrator.

I just said "perpetuate" out loud to myself several times.

Holy shit you're right. My mind was just blown.

Nugatory sounds like a room in cookie/wafer factory... a room with a big machine and small oOmpa elves are bustling busily working to insert and fill the β€œ nougat” in between the wafer cookies... welcome to the Nugatory.. 😎

Also - fudge, sludge, budge, grudge, mulch, gulp, swill, trudge and pipette sound like what they are.

'Plush' is a soft-feeling sound and 'flush' sounds like a toilet flushing.

'Bat' is the sound of the ball hitting the wood.

Fruit. The word 'fruit' makes the sound of slurping fruit into your mouth then munching it.

'Blossom' is a delicate word for a delicate thing.

'Womb' is a soft, deep word. At the start, none of the parts of your mouth come together. Where does the sound begin? Where does life itself begin? What came first, the chicken or the egg? The word 'womb' doesn't end with a 'stop' : the 'm' goes on for as long as you care to vocalise... and so will the rest of our little race. Fittingly, it rhymes with 'tomb'. 'Tomb' starts definitively where the tongue hits the back of the front teeth, but after the deep, dark 'oo', that 'm' could go on for eternity. Like death itself...

To gesticulate - to move/wave your arms around so as to communicate something. Doesn't sound like what it is.

To giggle - sounds like what it is.

'Nugatory' sounds like a legal term. 'Your nugatory rights are not affected.'

    Niggardly: to be stingy
Say it even slightly off note and you are liable to be tossed into the inferno of a hate crime.

    "nudge"
    "whisper"
    "skim"
    "skip"

don't sound like what they mean:
    "lesbian" (sounds like a disease...)
    "silence"

To me, the word masticate sounds like a way to jack off. The word actually means chew.

As for the bonus question I'm thinking of a candy bar that's filled with nougat.
