Girls: would you rather be considered too fake or too ugly?

You can put effort into your appearance and still be ugly.

Although being called fake is harsh and derogatory, if I was called it I would open my eyes and stop being pretentious. That way I might look good AND natural. However also I realise that being branded ugly isn't the worst thing in the world... What about being cruel, greedy and vindictive??

People, girls especially (and I hear that because I am one), seem to value beauty above kindness in oneself -- never in others. It confuses me.

I honestly would rather be called ugly. I'm secure enough with my self to ignore comments like that. It won't effect me and I'll forget about it the next day.

But at the same time, it also depends on who it is, or the amount of people who are calling you these things.

What bugs me about this question is that theres a ton of girls out there who are extremely fake who "believe" they are ugly when they are perfectly fine without all that damned make up on all the time.

There is such a thing as a 'down to earth' label. An average-pretty girl that is not fake or called fake.

Yo the choice is obvious. =] Being "too ugly" can be concealed by personality. I know tons of women who could be considered ugly if they had crappy personalities. "Too fake" is automatically sucky because A. You aren't being yourself, and B. everyone can see that.

you know being fake and plastic DOES NOT mean you look good! It means you look plastic which I think is hidious.

urm there is actually a neither because there are girls out there that look amazing with no make up whatsoever, so stfu....

if someone were to call me ugly i'd a part of me would die slowly a shallow swallowing pain would hit my chest and suddendly id be sophocating i guess im kinda insecure about my beauty tho when i look in the mirror im happy with the way i look yet why do others make me fell ugly so i put myself in the ugly category since i feel that way near people. do others somewhat feel the way i do?

I honnestly would rather be pretty and fake... I hate this way of thinking of mine, because it means I surrender to modern society's beauty standarts. I want to learn to appreciate natural beauties. I know I won't get a trophy for that (Even though I secretly wish for that XD) but it makes me feel better as a person.

In this day and age, you can hardly still be ugly, why with all the make-up and beauty paraphernalia that's out there!

When I wake up in the morning and look in the mirror, I always think 'F**k, I'm ugly!'

Fake is just as bad as being ugly, Im afraid, and while being fake you may be getting more attention, the attention will be fake too...

No guys I know like fake tanned/super made up girls.. So I guess ugly! At least then they'll notice your personality :L

ive never been called fake or ugly and if i was i would think it was funny, after i finished laughing i would cry. all this in front of the person so they would change their perception of me and call me crazy instead (which i would prefer)

Fake...because you can always tone it down and end up looking good naturally. If you're "ugly" there may not be much you can do about it. I know this sounds really superficial...but yeah haha.
