Girls want relationship after sex?

I am 27yo male in SW UK, have sexual urges, end up sleep with female friend or mate. After a while they become clingy and expectant and it puts me off and sometimes makes friendship hard.. is this normal? Is it bad to shag your friends? Would appreciate advice from girls especially :/ thanks!
