It did happen to me, and many of my friends. None of us have any long term mental problems, because we do not over-dramatize it and seek attention and pity over something so trivial.

Just wanted to say that when I was about thirteen and at camp, me and a group of girls were kinda having a "tell us your secrets" party. I was speechless when many of the girls said NOTHING like this ever happened to them. Every single example given, plus more, had tried stuff with me! Some, but not all, were successful. Yes it did have an effect on my relationships as I grew older. I am now married to a much older man and feel like these things contribute to my desire to be with him. I am very attracted to him sexually, but I wonder if that would have been different had I not been "conditioned" as a child???

Not that I know of, but then I again I do remember this time where I was in at the gas station with my grandfather. We were waiting inline for something and there were these two supposedly teenage African boys. They were talking about some crude stuff that I didn't understand and kept looking at me. There were other people in the line and they all seemed really uncomfortable and my grandfather got angry and told me that they were talking about me. They wouldn't stop and I can't remember if the other people did anything, but my grandfather angrily told me to leave and to the car and wait with my grandmother. So I did and he came back a while after and I think he was still angry about it. But I'm relieved he told me to go otherwise my naive self would've stayed there.

I got this a lot as a kid but not from any family members or personal acquaintances, but I think mostly it's because where I grew up, it's much different than Western cultures.
