My opinion - There wasting there time because germs is everywhere and you take a shower everynight.

    Most computer keyboards have vastly more germs than a toilet seat and you touch those with your fingers (then perhaps touch your mouth). Touching a toilet seat with your posterior feels like it should be unhygienic, but isn't.

    I don't care about how many germs there are, I'm not gonna sit on a seat that a lot of possibly nasty people pissed all over before I got there. :P

    I don't care if you sit on it or not, but if you're going to stand up, lift the $#%@ seat instead of making a mess for the next person who has to use it.

      Hovering in a place one's not comfortable sitting on the seat of- is NORMAL.

      Or would it better phrased as being:

      Less uncomfortable to hover than contemplate sitting there?

        Oh no, I get your guy's side of it. I just don't do it myself. Even my boyfriend won't take a dump in a public washroom. But I'm more like the OP. I'll sit. I don't see the point in hovering... but I see how it could give some people that piece of mind

    I never sit on the seat because I can't. I get too grossed out thinking of all the pubic hair and grime that was once probably coating the seat.

    I only do that when there is piss on the seat... which is from when other people do that. Seriously girls! Clean up after your pissy toilet seat!

    I don't mind getting my hands dirty because even if I get germs on them it probably won't hurt me. Your hands have a nice protective layer of skin, and you know to wash them before you eat. My vagina is different though. Its internal and might get a nasty infection which can be very unpleasant and possibly dangerous. So if a toilet in a public place looks suspicious to me I will not sit on it!

    Most girls just sit on the seat because
    Thats where the seat is made for and its easyer and faster
    If you shower everyday its not a big deal to get germs from it and if you use the toilet at home you basicly all share some of the same germs
