My natural desire is to control the situation, be kind of crazy. A long-time gf I had seemed fine with my reasonably bizarre behavior. But now I'm older I want to know how to behave with a girl I really like, and now that I'm not in my teens.

Are there signals I should look for or should I just be as confident as I was before?

    I'm not entirely sure what the Poll questions mean so I'll just answer here.

    If you're worried about consent then get permission before you start anything. Make sure she's the kind of girl who actually likes it rough before bringing it drastically into the bedroom. Get consent before the foreplay starts for the first few times you have sex until your comfortable enough with each other to be able to tell from her behavior that she doesn't want sex. Better yet, if you're the "tie up, bruise on thighs but in a sexy way not a beating way" then maybe organize a safe word, just in case.

    Nothing worse than accidentally raping your girlfriend because you made her feel like she couldn't refuse or was scared you'd hurt her more.

      To clarify, rough to me doesn't mean hurting beyond quite minimal things (like I wouldn't bruise someone), it's mostly dominating. And I would never do it to someone who is clearly visibly uncomfortable.

      I'm more concerned about what she wants/thinks.
