Girl i don't know randomly grabbed my hand?

I recently moved to California. I started a new school and I don't know anyone neither does anyone know me as far as I'm concerned. During lunch today I was casually walking to the bathroom when two girls came around the corner wearing "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" T-Shirts and matching white short-shorts which I thought was fairly cute. I moved to the right side so they could pass but instead they closed in on me as I was walking. One of them said "hi" and I replied with a friendly "hello" and the blonde one put out her hand as if to shake, and I took it assuming they were just gonna inform me of some school survey or something. To my surprise she clenched my hand and just started pulling me back in the other direction. I didn't know how to react I just stood there puzzled and she let go and walked away giggling with her friend. What the heck were they trying to do?

    There's some dumb youtube 'prank' that involves people walking up and holding your hand out of nowhere so maybe it was that or a copycat. Pretty lame prank.
