Girl dumped because she cut her hair

My friend has always had long Rapunzel hair, the kind where everybody stop and goes "ooh!" in the street. She thought its time for a change so she cut in into a cute not really short bob, and suddenly her boyfriend of 2 years dumps her. He pretty much told her he loved her hair so much, without it she doesn't feel "special" and feels like "someone else".
She is really upset and now feels he only like her for her hair, which it seems he did. What a complete douche!!!
Have you guys dumped a girl because she cu her hair? Or is his level of douchery a rare thing?

    Not exactly a douche, but a coward. That clearly wasnt the real reason he ended things, just the reason he gave because he is too much of a coward to discuss his real feelings. Pretty normal for young romances. He just needs to grow up a bit.

    I hate to sound crass but he got together with her because of her looks. Every man is influenced first by appearence, then by personality. Her hair was a big part of her looks. It is the cold hard truth.

    And most women do not look good with short hair. Only women with big square chins look good with short hair.

      lol I thought big square chins would look awful with short hair! Like Loni Anderson .
      I think girls with delicate elvish faces look best with short hair.

    i would only dump a girl if she could no longer support me weed smoking habit and coke addiction... that would just make her selfish imo.

    I think it's normal if she planned on keeping the short hairdo and he didn't like it, by all means, dump her. People DO have preferences...what can ya do. I once dumped a guy because he grew a beard and I hate beards. He told me he was planning on keeping it and after 7 months of the beard, I couldn't be with him no longer. I hated the feel of it on my skin, I hated the ugly bum look, etc so I dumped him even though we were together for 9 months prior to his beard.
