First off, I hate that people are making a joke out of your experience. I've had nearly identical encounters, and it's very frustrating (people don't understand) and extremely frightening. And I'm pretty pragmatic, yet my experiences speak well for themselves. First question: Is the ghost actually the ghost of a dead person (sounds like it) or some entity that is more sinister? Second question: is your experience limited to just seeing him or do feel mind-altered (hazy high like on drugs). There are rituals you could perform yourself, but I wouldn't suggest them in case your dealing with something worse than a ghost.
I would perhaps bring someone into your home perhaps a psychic, to get a sense of what your dealing with. From there, I would make a plan.
If you've got a ghost, they are actually reasonable enough sometimes to take direction from you. You can rebuke it, but you MUST mean it and believe it from the depths of your soul.
Something more sinister may take a crew of parapdychologists AND church authorities from the highest level down.
Put on your spiritual warfare either way (a scripture or a psalm) to read if you get too involved mentally. They can not read your thoughts but they can percieve your countenance (which is a sum total of out thoughts). If you feel high or hazy, it could be either. Ghosts are often strong enough to influence our per eptions. Don't try and do anything yourself if you sense you've got something sinister lurking in your home. Thanks for the understanding, I knew getting my grandson to teach me about this invention called internet was a good idea, loads of great suggestions, I will commence the testing of these ideas right away.
It's sad that some people can't fathom the seriousness and the damages these events makes for my family
