Getting rid of nightmares by flipping around on the bed?

All of my life, I have had terrible nightmares. Though they don't come every night, I still get them enough to be vaguely bothered by their occurrence.
Anyways, recently after waking up in the middle of the night, sweating and shaking, I decided to reverse the configuration of my bed. Haha, stupid, right? What I mean is I put my pillow at the foot of my bed and pulled the covers up so that I was sleeping backwards.
I dunno if it's some psycological thing, but since that night (which was, after that nightmare free), I have slept upside-down, and the nightmares never came back.
I was just wondering if anybody else has done this, and if I'm crazy. :)
Is this normal?

Definitely a redirection of energy . Curious, where is your bed with respect to your doorway?

I'm not at all sure about the nightmare thing per se, but I do know that in my personal experience sleeping "upside down" helps me get to sleep when I couldn't sleep at all before. Haha, it's weird.

I may (probably, even) have no idea what I'm talking about but I'm thinking that you got to the point where you expected nightmares, thus they kept reoccurring. Perhaps flipping around in the bed gave you hope and confidence and your newfound "security" banished the nightmares!

    Maybe?
