Getting high off of music

Ok, so i'm a huge music fan. Any kind of music. Sometimes when I listen to certain songs I get almost "high". Like I it's the same feeling as smoking marijuana. Everything just feels good and I ignore other things around me. It happens a lot especially when i'm alone. Does this ever happen to anyone else?

Yeah, I've felt similar to this before. Sometimes songs can give me very strong emotions. I get so into some of them so much that it can be a really euphoric, awesome experience. Also, listening to sad songs can even provoke me enough to cry.

Music is powerful stuff. Gotta love it.

I absolutely adore music, so I'd say it's completely normal. I do it all the time, I can go for hours. =P Feels great. Nothing, absolutely nothing can compare to being high on music. Just make sure you use the good stuff - FUNK. =D And watch out, if your work/school isn't music related, you can get sucked in too deep if you're not careful.

When I play Pendulum on full blast with some good headphones, the bass just explodes my minds listening to it, no real way to describe the feeling.

You better believe if I find a good song, I'm going to jam out for hours just replaying that one song over and over again. So I guess I get a sort of 'high' from the music I listen to? I don't know.

The thing the first few people are talking about is completely different. That literal high doesn't happen from normal music. What you are talking about is different and it's total normal. It's just when you really enjoy what you are hearing and get a more intense feeling than normal.

When I listen to a great song, it can make my pulse race, make me lose my inhibitions, and makes me want to just go outside and rock the fuck out with everybody watching, and me not caring what they think.

Other great songs make me want to go into my bedroom and just sit their doing fuck all, playing it over and over, just mellowing out. I've never been high, but these things sound like a sort of watered-down version of what I imagine being high feels like.

I really don't understand the fascination with music this generation holds. Anyway, I know it is ACTUALLY possible to get high on music, or rather a sound embedded in the music, but you need some special equipment to do it. And just like with any other drug, it's kinda illegal. Be careful though, I saw on a thousand ways to die, someone died doing this.
