Frustrated with my sleeping habits...

Hi, I've been frustrated with my sleep lately. I've recently flipped my sleeping schedule, and now I feel like it's starting to ruin again because I woke up 3 hours after my goal time... That's because I couldn't fall asleep until 4 AM.. :(

One day I'll sleep just fine, the next day I'm having problems.. What is this? How do I fix it? I tried reading before bed, I tried taking mild sleep aids like attaching marijuana patches...I tried drinking chamomile tea... And I still have this weird annoying habit! Now I feel like I'm slipping again and I've worked very hard on this new schedule.. I went though a week of hell and sleep deprivation, but my body is being stubborn. I don't know what to do..

OP I'm the same. Have been for years. I have poor time-keeping and bad sleeping habits, I don't feel tired when I need to - so I know how you feel.

        Ha no idea.

I've toyed with the idea of getting behavioural therapy. Also considered if it might be a diagnosable condition like Circadian Rhythm disorder:

I expect it's more a consequence of deeply ingrained, disruptive habits, that might take a lot of effort to dismantle :/

  • Dulse.

I have this problem also. Sometimes it's fine and other times I simply cannot sleep. I find honestly, I just have to give up. Stop caring at all whether I sleep or not. Once I do that, sleeping becomes a little easier. I hope that helps, that's all I can think of after trying many things.

    Edit: Sometimes stretching helps too.

    • One to two teas a day. Nothing before bed.

Try exercising before you sleep. Maybe it'll help?
