I get along with a lot of people at school. I don't mean in just a superficial way, but like hanging out with them and acting like we're close friends. I'm not really friends withthem outside to school. I'll hang out with people occasionally but not in a "group" type of way. Like I'll hang out with their group or play sports and stuff with them but not really have a close relationship with them. I don't know if what I just said makes any sense.

    For some people, having friends (outside of school) comes easy. For others, they may have to "make it happen" in a way. For example, maybe you should think of one person that you like spending time with and then invite that person to do something fun with you "outside of school." It could be something as simple as "hey, let's go to that game together." Or, "do you want to catch a movie with me on Saturday?" Until you stick your neck out and "make it happen" you'll never know the joy and fun of having friends "outside of school."

    It's easy to have school or work buddies coz you have the same things in common to talk about. You need to find a common interest with people outside school or work, with similar interests or hobbies. Don't be afraid to go and watch sporting events on your own - you'll always meet people.

    normal. im the same way. i have alot of buddies at work but i dont know how to take our friendship to the next level and hang out outside of work, so I guess I dont really have any 'friends'. It would really be nice to have someone to hang out with on my days off or someone to call and have a chat with :(

    Yeah same here I used to hang around all the "cool kids" but I was nothing compared to those guys,,, I only had my two really good friend during middle school and high school and that's about it only one of them goes to the same college as me dunno what happen to the other.

    Same, except I have 2 best friends.
    Just find some-one to hang around with that share the same similarities as you etc.

    Basicly you want someone to make you feel special...someone more close to you...someone who you can trust.Like a bestfriend.

    Who needs 'em anyways??? They just suck up you "out-of-school-time." In my mind, your not friendless, just smart for not wasting your time.
