i've never really considered myself racist, but i'm starting to question it.
i was in jc penny the other day and about six turban-clad girls barged into the section i was in loud as fuck in their native languege. they were rude, inconsiderate, and SO FUCKING ANNOYING.
is it normal to think that if you live in america you should speak english?

What if you went on vacation to another country and you were not allow to speak English because it wasn't the language of the country you were speaking? What if you had to hide your American culture & looks because it offended other people?
Put your feet in the shoes of others, and you may come to understand that racist thinking is actually very passe.
hijab, turban, idgaf. if i went to another country, i would probably speak their languege because it's just common fucking sense. i wouldn't want to go to another country where i stood out. i wouldn't want to be the only white girl in an area populated by purely asians or some other culture, so i don't understand why middle-easterners would want to come to america and stick out like an obnoxious fucking thumb.
all i'm saying is, if you can't speak the languege and learn the customs of the country you're moving to, then stay where you are, because it makes very little sense to move there if you can't function like a normal citizen.

if you're going to go to a country where you don't know the languege or customs, at least have the sense to not be an obnoxious twat about it. those girls in the store were more loud an obnoxious than anybody else there.

I know, but my question is....why do you care? If they annoy you, why do you care whether or not you can understand what they're talking so obnoxiously about? Maybe they were visiting, maybe they just moved here and haven't had the time to sit down and learn an entire language yet. I'm just saying, I can understand your basic sentiment, but I think you should be less hateful about it. Just because those girls were obnoxious doesn't mean all "foreigners" are that way. I live in NJ, the melting pot of the US, and I know plenty of "foreigners" and I gotta say, they're the nicest people I know. Which I know isn't saying much because...it's Jersey. I mean I don't speak French or Italian, but I'd totally love to go to those places, and I think it would be pretty obnoxious and unwelcoming if all they could feel towards me was, "Learn French or gtfo." How are we all supposed to coexist at least semi-peacefully and accept each other's cultural differences with attitudes like this?

yes i agree with you. i get very offended when people come here to live and they dont even have the decency or respect to learn to speak english but they EXPECT everyone when they go to their country to respect their laws and religion and speak their language and all that crap. they all suck ass.
I'm Russian and I think if ppl are stupid doesn't matter where they are from. If you come to some body's house (country) you MUST respect rules. It's the same about fags, man wants to fuck a man that's fine, don't tell me about it.

I don't think Muslim women wear turbans. And lots of people are rude and annoying. I have come across far more loud and obnoxious Americans than I have foreigners.

You cant base your opinion of an entire race on the fact that a few of them were talking loudly in a shop. Can you not see how ridiculous that is? I run a toy shop in england and ill tell you something which might just surprise you - american children are the loudest most arrogant and rude ive ever met. But i would never hate all americans because of this. As long as you lot keep making family guy ill put up with your kids - seems fair to me!
As a side note, the most well behaved and polite children are german.
Its things like these why people hate Americans its like if a person emigrates to the US they are automatically suppose to change who they are they should be ashamed of who they are, the way they dress, they're culture and their accents you heard them speaking in a foreign language doesn't mean they can't speak english maybe they chose to speak in their language I have no problems with immigrants in the US as long as they are legal and not gang banging yeah when Mexicans are yammering on in spanish it annoys me but only because I don't understand what or who they are talking about makes me a little uncomfortable but I have no racist underlying feelings towards them

Is it really that important to you that you understand what someone you find to be obnoxious and annoying is saying? Who cares? The only reason you are overly annoyed with them as compared to your fellow Americans is that they stand out whereas everyone else just blends in to one big, annoying, white, upper middle class blob.
Well you gotta remember when they speak their dialect they have to say some words In a certain tone. And yeah some are really loud and obnoxious. Doesn't necessarily mean every foreigner is like that.
