I'm a college art student, and I paint hours a day. But whenever i'm under the influence of weed, acid or so on. I always end up loving my art way more then then when I paint sober. When i'm high the pictures are less realistic and more eye catching the colors always seem to pop more, and even my teachers like them more. Is it normal for art to come out so much more eye catching when it is created under the influence? or am I just crazy. ;)

    100% normal. lets just be honest here, weed makes everything better to a degree. and being stoned can also help you concentrate and make you more focused on what you're doing, which equals better and more imaginative art!

    ive always wanted to draw on acid or shrooms or something. preferably shrooms because i hear the trips are scary and i do more of the macabre style art. but i dont know would it be like steriods to sports? :o

    Not to romanticise an altered state of mind, but back when I drank heavily, I wrote both the stupidest and most beautiful things I can imagine. Occasionally, it was so good I couldn't believe it came from me. It's difficult to know whether to be proud of it or not.

    A lot of famous creative artists in the past used some type of drug to stir their imagination, whether it was writing painting,composing music etc.

    Ya, you are normal, although there's some pretty nasty anti-marijuana dorks on this site, so you'll probably be blasted with bitchy comments. (You can delete them by moving your cursor over the bottom left corner of their comment box and clicking the "hide" button.)

    I don't know about acid, but marijuana stimulates the type of brainwaves that are associated directly with creativity, so it makes sense that you would find it helps you with your artwork.

    when i was at school, i used to smoke pot just before my art classes because i was always more creative and daring when i was stoned. so yeah i would say that is normal.
